H.M.A.S. - NAII Fairlane

Ahoy folk of boosted. Thought I'd start a thread for the boat I picked up last night for the sum of 600 doll hairs.

It's a 1990 NAII Fairlane, I6 3.9L with a 4 speed auto. Rosewood in colour, and stock as a rock.

Mechanically it runs like a dream, the body is fairly straight with no rust and the interior is mint with all of the electrics working as they should.

One owner car. Came with the original service manual and service history, and was originally a Warragul car so it hasn't come all that far from 'home'. Currently unregistered, however this will change once my exams are over (mid/late-November). Anywho, I'll let the pictures do the talking..

Not entirely sure what my plans are for it, other than putting it on the road and driving it.

Although, there are a few things I'd like to do it (very, very tame. No turbos or DOHC conversions here)

- Get registered.
- Lower (superlows or ultras).
- Paint a few bits and pieces (mirror scalps, door handles, etc)
- Clear indicators.
- Replace chrome in bumpers and side moulds.
- LTD grille (anyone got one? definetely not a fan of the standard "egg crate" grille).
- Flappas (anyone have a set of these for 15 inch wheels they want to sell also?).
- Get a detail.
- Mild stereo.
- Maintain.
- Drive.

The styling of these aren't everyones cup of tea, and I can understand why (I'm still not quite over how long it looks/is), but it's a whole lot of car for sweet eff all money. So thanks for looking, and any feeback/suggestions are welcomed. Hopefully be more updates on this in about a months time. Now, back to studying... Cheers. :good:

Looks a decent, clean unit. Some good plans too. Good luck.

Holy chit, that's super clean. Nice pickup!

I've got a cruise leather wheel in half decent knick and and NC fairlane interior that would look mint in this! Cheap cheap! :good:

Cheers guys. It is in pretty good nick, especially for something that's 22 years old. Has it's imperfections though, which I think the camera hides.

I'm pretty happy with how the interior is for now (plus CBF finding a place to store what's in it now). Wouldn't happen to have an LTD grille though would you, superhuS?

Also, I'm assuming that Falcon springs/suspension are suitable/swappable for this and vice versa?

Thread mine! Bump bump it up.

So this rig has been sitting at my Mums place in country Victoria as I moved to inner city for study. However inner city sucks, so will be moving to the south east in 3 weeks which means I get my car back! Missed the old girl..

In the mean time I've been hoarding parts for this. So far I've got

- DA LTD premo sound (amp, rear control, headunit etc). Didn't want an aftermarket unit because they stand out like dogs balls.
- White venetians
- Black and white flappas
- Clear front indicators
- New mint rear reading light lenses (current ones are missing the tab and hanging out)

Hopefully aim to get all of this installed once I actually have the car with me again.

Once that's all done, next on the cards is get the standard wheels polished to a mirror shine as well as lower it.

Thinking ultras in the rear and supers in the front. Anyone have pics of a 'lane on this spring setup?

Car is also sporting an LTD grille. Looks eleventy million times better than egg crate grille. No pics but will have some shortly.

Any updates? I too have an NA, keen to see what you've done with it.
