Finally have the brakes all finished.
Was a bit of a nightmare. Ended up using longer arp studs.

Got back some of the parts from the chrome platers.

Also dropped of the template for the power steering and alt bracket to a water jet guy. Hope to have that this week so I can finish up the front of the motor.

Picked these up from the platers aswell for the Dyno freestyle bike I'm doing up.

A small update.
As Part of the eng bay clean up, clean head lights are a must.
I had another pair of lights and a set of nos glass.
Pulled them apart and sent the tins off to be done again.
Had a perfect set of reflectors, cleaned up the rubbers and I have the back plastic covers at the blasters to see if they can clean them up.
Next on the list is the break booster and master cylinder.

Dropped the motor in the hole for a test fit.
Needed to make sure I had good clearance on the alt , power steering pump and every thing looks good.

Very happy with what I got as it was Fkn cheap.

Also have a 393 kit in the works. Can't wait to get a motor built.
Image

Finally I've found a perfect parcel shelf, only took 3years.
Got a set of n.o.s plugs aswell. Looks heaps better. Now to put the blind back in to hide it lol.

Round 2 with the billet brackets I'm making.
Had a whole new water pump backing plate and p.s pump bracket made up.
Every thing lines up and fits like it's factory made, very happy.
I had a few clearance issues with the timing pointer and elec water pump inlet pipe on the first set that needed to be solved.
Now I need to have the idlers machined up and tap the holes on the brackets to locate the idler bolts.

Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with this set up.

more nos parts
Got every lucky with this lot. An xe bonnet badge I think, an XD boot badge, some front seat belts with top bolt covers, door latches and the XD clock. There was ment to be a nos spot light button with this stuff but has been missed placed, hope to have that soon.

More nos stuff
Also got some nos chrome mouldings, got boot, under number plate, bonnet, drip rail and the same corner parts.
Very happy with this score.

Here's a close up shot of the chrome moulds fresh out of the wrapper. The guy I got them off said he got them from ford in 1988.

So pretty.

Alloy. Heads are all clean and ready to go. Starting to pull the pump apart to see if it's still good.

Spent Easter weekend with dad rebuilding the hand grenade. I'll run this motor until I get the 393 finished.
Can't wait to get the xd going again.
