The new daily run around

Postby 89.SVO » January 10th, 2013, 6:16 pm

As some of you know, i sold my DF LTD for a decent sum as i was back to square one like i was with the EB. Spending more money on the daily driver than the SVO. So i thought i should just buy a little 4 banger manual, that i can just fold the seats down and throw shit in the back. And not mod. So enter the $300 KE Laser Ghia.

Image

The service manager at work has had in for 7 years. But just gotten a company car. So he just wanted to flog it off. I had a look over it tonight, and all it needs for a roady is:
4 tyres
Wiper blades
No reverse light (fixed tonight, two blown globes)
No RH number plate light (fixed, globe)
Clutch and brake pedal rubbers
Both outer driveshaft boots torn
Front brake hoses perished.

That's it. So hopefully by the end of next week it'll be registered in my name. And i can stop daily driving the SVO. And pull it to bits to start turbo'ing it.
Daily driver: AU2. 5 speed. 19" FG luxos. Full exhaust. Lowered. AU3 XR leather interior, converted to full power windows. 3.45 LSD. AU1 XR kit with classic spoiler. IN THE FUTURE: Tickford 6, maybe boost ;)
Weekend driver: EA SVO - AU motor. Built BTR. TCE 2800 stall. T76 turbo. Locked diff. On E85. approx 320rwkw. 11.5 @ 121mph

Did a few things after work, clutch pedal rubbers and drivebelts (were rooted). Got all the other stuff, apart from wiper blades, sitting ready at work. So after work tomorrow i'll get some more done.

today i fitted four new tyres, replaced the front brake hoses and flushed the coolant. Also gave it a quick tub. Scrubs up alright. Just a bit of clear coming of on top of the RHF guard.

To date it owes me:
$300 for the car
$350 for roady bits
$250 for tyres

Probably around $700 for 12 months rego, plates and VicRoad fees. So for about $1600 it'll be a good reliable car. That should go for years.

well, this morning i replaced the wiper blades. And after work today i replaced both driveshafts.

All i gotta do now is finish bleeding the brakes, and top up the gearbox oil. Then that's it.

First thing it'll be getting once it's rego'd is a decent CD/UBS/SD player. The original tape deck just won't cut it

Bled brakes and toped up gearbox oil tonight. Plus RWC is done and dusted. Quicker roady than a few people around here

So hopefully VicRoads this week and in my name. Then the SVO will be retired to the shed and motor and box pulled out

Plus more money toward SVO. To me, like a bagful of dicks, that's a win

Dunno why you even made this thread. Waste of space it's just your shitass daily.

And why do people from Bendigo think that a bag full of dicks is a win? It's about as win as your home job bowl cut.
