09 ego G6ET

I bought this about 6 months ago after my EL was defected. With prices a bit more reasonable and with out time or motivation to get the EL road worthy, I figured it was the right time. It was optioned with 19's, adjustable pedals and crappy sat nav. It is all standard apart from pedders coil overs and a K&N air filter. I'm going to raise the front a touch to level it off and give the bumper a chance of staying in one piece. More power would be nice but it will be copping an LSD before I worry about that.

That looks sooo bloody good.

I wouldn't do another thing externally.

Looks great! They are awesome cars, you won't regret getting a LSD in it too.. makes it a lot easier/nicer to drive, even tho ripping big single peggers is fun :D

Its a pity they never came with a sunroof, it would really set it off IMO.

Cheers guys, I'm pretty happy with it.
It definitely won't be changing externally, they're are my favorite modern ford due to there subtle looks and of course the engine.
Parfrey, I was just thinking the other day that I wish it was optioned with a sunroof. I had no idea they weren't available. Yours looks killer in black with cream interior BTW.

A few things have changed in the last six months;
Wound the coilovers up slightly, I've always had lowered cars but this was painful to drive any where other than a flat bit of road.
Nizpro stage 2 kit (injectors, piping, cooler, cat and tune) which resulted in 289rwkw's.
Herrod airbox and rapid systems intake muffler delete.

Will be ordering PWR ZF heat exchanger, True trac and Earls turbo oil filter kit.

Had the work at Nizpro done a few months ago now and was initially loving the power difference. Kind of used to/bored with the power now. GTX turbo and required supporting mods in the near future.

What's that Herrod airbox worth if you don't mind me asking?

Was $495. Not cheap for a bit of plastic and K&N filter but looks effective and factory-ish

This is my favourite colour in the g6's, with silver wheels just look classy! Wouldn't mind one myself one day.

I would be putting the G6E 19s back on mine if it weren't for brembos. Looks real nice dude. There are some alternatives popping up all over the place when it comes to turbos. MTA from Mr Turbo and Nizpro themselves doing some good things woth borg warner turbos. GTX is a decent proven combo though

Thanks guys,
Resisting the urge to buy your rims that are for sale SLY5LT. Ha
Haven't done much research into turbo upgrades but will most likely talk to Nizpro and see what they recommend. Have been happy with them so far.

yup...my 19's are back on.... the understated/sleeper look suits the car.... have chopped many car's thinking it's std.... and loving it
i have done a rotor/pad upgrade (recommended) to cope with what i use the car for, tyre's are the only issue now as far as traction, the 275's of course cope a lot better than the std 245's.
as "old mate" said, there are a few option's now with turbo upgrades .... but for mine.... i'll be going the tried & proven GTX :good:
hope to spot you out & about & catch up for a chat

Do love the big dished rim look but it is good fun surprising a few people with what looks pretty much like a grandpas car. Ha!
After my EL, the brakes feel awesome but will see if I still feel the same after the next round of mods.
Traction is something that I'm hoping better tyres and a truetrac will help.
old_mate, has going a bigger turbo made your car much less responsive down low? Definitely feel the standard baby turbo run out of puff occasionally but don't want to lose that low down grunt.

Nah man, MTA750 spools exactly the same as the old one. Thats why i bought it. Im also running a 0.7 cover so it probably should be a little laggier but its not. Dyno graph looks the same up to 3000rpm except it keeps making power and holds 19 psi whereas the old turbo would fall over.

It will go 470rwkw and spool even harder on E85. Cant wait for that fun. Going to do ZF and tailshaft first but
G6E Turbo.
