A bit of an update on this, I have given it a bit of a birthday over the past few weeks, new plugs, leads rotor and dizzy cap, after that she still was'nt running as good as is should, so I looked further, I discovered someone had fitted a Quadrajet to it with out fitting a correct spacer plate, so when it was bolted down it had a heap of vacuum leaks underneath, I have a few cars kicking around on the block one of these is a ZJ Fairlane with a 302 in it, so I decided to rat the carbie (factory Carter Thermoquad) off it, I kitted the carbie and fitted it, now running a lot better now.

I have recently put it through a RW and will be making the repairs over the next few weeks.

Nice! We had a similar thing with a quadrajet on the xw, 351 as well.
Didn't have vacuum leaks, was just an utter piece of crap lol
Put a Holley 780 on, tuned it, instantly better!

Plans are for now is to get the RW finished off, then in 12 to 18 months i'm considering a Windsor conversion EFI 351 or maybe a 347, i'll see whats around at the time. With in this time it will be getting a fresh lick of paint, I have a mate that is a automotive painter by trade, i'm swaping an old 4X4 for a paint job.

There is a bit of a list to get the RWC but nothing difficult to repair.

They picked:
Reverse light to work (the wiring was laying across the exhaust at some stage and burnt the wires),
Wiper washers to work,
Replace wiper blades,
Adjust Park brake (rear cable is stretched will replace with a new one),
Driving light to work (I cut out all the unessery wiring under the dash and returned it to factory, so I just need to remove the spoties, one is cracked anyway),
Horn to work,
Replace missing Clutch Pedal rubber,
Rectify excessive movement in front wheel bearings,
Rectify excessive movement in drive shaft uni joints,
Rectify oil leak at power steering box (one of the hoses is wet so i'll just degrease it),
Rectify oil leak at rear of gear box,
Secure spare tire,
Degrease and wash Engine and gear box.

About a day of mucking around and she'll be all done.
Funny thing is the front shockers are stuffed and leaking oil out of them and the diff's center gasket is also leaking and they were not picked.

Most of that looks to be pretty easy, shouldn't take you too long to get it sorted as you said.

But happy in the pants!
LPG it, the old mans 377 is pretty good on the juice, has a 5spd though.

Your list seems like a piece of piss too, other than the slop in the front end... but I thought that was factory fitted?

Yes, I will be putting it on gas, the car previously had LPG fitted to it but has been removed, this will make a lot easier to refit it as I wont have to get it certified, I have here an XE 302 Ghia here on gas so i'll be removing all the components from that and fitting them to the truck I also have a BA wagon taxi dedicated gas that I will be removing the tank from.

ok, so I have a small update, I picked up a 2001 AU Fairlane 5.0L conversion recently for a song, engine came with all the bolt on's and hoses, I also have a set of 220kw headers to go on it, and thinking about a cam (not sure what one yet).
