Wonder if the values are really starting to drop out of the modern 'collectables' a bit, this was cheap, there's two t3s been sold recently on aff for well under 20k ( one was cheaper than what the el was advertised at), nothing really seems to be selling unless its priced uber sharp...

Good time to be a buyer....

Yeah i saw that 10k T3.
hard to say whats going on with prices, but as you said, good if your in the market :D

Yeah it's a real mess ATM, I'm not sure whether they're trying to upgrade the roads or just repair them but I counted 27 sets of lights between Gympie and Rocky September last year. It took me an hour and half longer then normal. :banghead:

You would have noticed all the new infrastructure around Rocky? By the time they finish one section, the one behind needs repairing. They have no idea how to build roads up here. I liken it to a patchwork quilt.

Any plans for a bag over setup in the GT? :P

Man, that's an awesome buy! GT looks great, perfect colour too haha

Can't figure out why the Modena's don't look 100% at home either, usually they look perfect on the e-series in general. Should look a lot better when lowered though.

Well done John! I am astonished that one could be had for that sort of money.

One of our people bought an EL GT and supercharged it back in '03. I wonder if it could be the same one. I have a picture of the car but it doesn't really give anything away. I can't remember the guy's name nor what his other car was.

I can easily say that when I buy a "proper" EL GT it will have little to no mods done to it... they just
look so fucking mint stock (lowered just a touch)... Been talking to a few blokes over here about it
and we still cant believe you picked it up for the price you did...

I was looking it up last night, there's a 100% as new example on Carsales going for $86k or something. Regular examples, one of which is on LPG, you're talking mid 20s.

Yeah, i actually kept it quiet for that very reason.
I know too many people who would have jumped on it, and i actually said to someone that i didnt want the likes of Sunny/Gilly to find it because i know how quick you guys jump on things lol.

It will be off the road for the next month or 2, rego's run out and i need to sort out the RWC and rego, which i'm in no hurry for at the moment.

Hope this tidies up well John. I'd be trying to keep it stock and mickey as possible!

Will you put the blower back on after you rego it? My Powerdyne setup made 227rwkw through the Auto on the dyno last weekend. If I had an intercooler or meth injection and could keep timing in it through the top end, the peak figure would be better again. On this with a properly setup kit you should see above that!

It can always be returned to stock.

ultimately i purchased the car to enjoy it, and i know i'll enjoy it more with a few modifications.

the blower will go back on it after Rego.

Definitely looks better on standard wheels.

Are those silver highlights on the skirts standard? Don't recall seeing any like that. Would be interesting to see a full list of the extra features the EL GT had.

The EL GT Sparkler I was looking at a couple of years ago had the contrast colours painted a different colour too...I suspect from an accident though. If it is the same colour as the wheels, it's meant to be 'Tickford Silver' FYI :)
