So I fucking hated the EB. Sold it, saw this for cheep and got it.

1997 EL XR6
Hot Chilli Red
Manual
Sunroof
Tickford Kit
FTR's
Some sort of bigger rear sway bar
No engine.

(Please note: car no longer has Cobra's and FG bulge because I'm not a faggot)

That's right boys and girls. No engine. This is when free EL Ghia comes into play.

Engine out, Engine in. Rear electrics and Climate Control conversion also comes with it, as well as Ghia carpet and chrome door handles. And a Clutch Industries clutch. And re-gasketing the whole engine because it would be nice to have 1 of the 15 or so e-series I've owned not leak oil.

Future plans is to get the front and rear lips resprayed and a new rooflining. Possibly a new set of wheels.

This will all be done sometime before 2021. But I'll try to have it done before the weekend.

Haha. I didn't buy it with the bonnet. It was for sale and the blokes dad ran over it in his ML63. Good riddance I say!

Progress: interior stripped on the Ghia. Wednesday it get's transplanted into the XR. Still keeping the XR seats/doortrim inserts.

So work has held me back a little on this. Plan is to have the engine dropped in next weekend, and I'll finish the interior off during the week next week. In the meantime, bought some goodies for it, and booked in with SKDSTA to get an epic detail on the 20th of July.

Don't know what the big fuss is over the clutch. I drove a 180sx with a twin plate carbon clutch daily for a year with no issues.

Josh, yeah it is that one.

kwikxr, still needs a tidyup lol. Probably going to get the rear bar resprayed and the 5 tiny dints on the body PDR'd out.

I had a 5 puck exedy in mine and it was a daily. Not really that fun at the end of the day.
An XR spec cluth would have been plenty for a next to stock 4L and oh so much nicer to drive.

That's the EXACT reason. It can't be that I've driven a car with that clutch and liked it. It can't also be future-proofing just in case I change my mind and do something with it.

Sounds like you have a taste for it and it should make it a bit more fun to drive. Had a triple plate in a daily a while back doing 1hr each way in peak hour city driving -that was interesting!

I like the feeling of a heavy clutch better than any of the standard replacements I've had. Daily driving the twin plate was a piece of piss until I trained legs back when I was at the gym. I couldn't move for an hour!

get the sump straightened by some dude, should help it not leak.
most the steal sumps are bent around the top in some places. fkn hate them so so much
