battery to start a atv up

Car battery to start a atv up? My atv is a 06 Yamaha bruin 250 I bout for 100 bucks it just wasn't running idk why but there wasn't gas or a battery and I been working on cleaning it up I just need to know if after I put gas in it if I put a car battery on it then can I use that jut to see if I can get it to crank or will it hurt something? I need to know by tonight!!

Nah as long as it's 12 volt it went matter I have used car batteries to jump my go karts and what not all the time.

Yeah I've jump started my road bike of the car heaps of times.

12v is 12v really isn't it?
