G-day All,

I've been a member for a little while now so I thought I show my ride I bought back in April. Its a 1996 Ford Fairmont EF series 2 in arctic blue and completely stock and immaculate. I bought it when I was 15 for $2500 after seeing it on gumtree and falling in love with her.

Then came the fairlane grill.i picked up 2 NOS nl ltd fairlane grills for $100 still in the packet:

I picked up some fog lights on ebay for $40 and wired them up myself:

I then turned 16 and got my L's and put some chrome strip mouldings on the front bumper:

The king springs super lows were then installed in the rear:

I then bought a brand new pioneer double din head unit for $150 and installed it and picked up a woodgrain gear sourround, black leather stitched t bar handle and chrome shaft for $90:

Also bought fairlane door trims for $90 and a ghia bonnet emblem for $10:

The steering wheel was in desperate need of a change so I picked up a fairlane one for $50:

And that's pretty much it for now.I apologise for such a long post but I hope you all enjoyed it.
Cheers :drinks2:

Thanks mate. For the moment none.just going to keep it a clean streeter. Future mods possibly respray as the paint is pretty crap, new headlights, possibly Manual conversion,LSD,maybe a mild cam, extractors, would also like a set of fairlane polished chrome rims or chrome 12 slotters or concorde rims, put my kings springs in the front, chrome interior door handles, fairlane cluster and a rear venitian. My plans are to just keep it a grandpa spec car and a nice cruiser.

I managed to do some things to the fairmont this week.

Picked up a EL fairmont grill for $30 and put it on straight away. Not sure if I should paint the centre bit arctic blue or leave it grey?
Image
Image

I also bought a EL cluster for $40.I decided to just put the EL dial decal and orange needles on my factory EF cluster so I could keep the same Km's.Should have done it a long time ago!
Image

The whole tow bar assembly got taken off as well. They look like crap and I don't do any towing and if I need to ill just borrow my old mans ute.I just need a towbar cover cap the fill in the square hole.

Been a while since I've posted on here. The fairmont is looking a little different since the last post, can't remember the stuff I've done to it since the last post. Here are some snaps to show the differences. Hope you enjoy!

Nice bus mate, so what's next? I think you should lower the front, tint the windows then boost it, would be a sweet streeter.

Thanks mate. Hopefully by the end of the year the front will be lowered,I have brand new super lows here waiting to go in but just haven't got around to it yet. Would love it to be boosted but I'm a p plater atm and can't drive a boosted car, plus the coin atm ain't gonna allow for that lol. But when I get my full licence (or maybe earlier) and if I still own this car I would like to drop a 5 litre v8 in it and stroke it out to a 347 with a 5 speed manual.

Update:

Bought a set of 5 polished Dl LTD rims with tyres and fitted them up.

Fitted up a Df/Dl LTD Fairlane chrome grille.

Also been busy the last couple of days fixing the fairmont.Replaced the battery and the terminals. Found a couple coolant leaks on my radiator and it was losing coolant pretty badly so i decided to do it all while I'm there. Since I already had a brand new overflow bottle, water pump and idler pulleys it was the perfect time for them to go in as well. All up it went pretty smoothly with no hang ups except for trying to get the old water pump off which proved to be a bit of a challenge but got it off in the end. The car is now happy and cool and no longer leaking coolant.

Image
Image

I also had some left over silver mesh from making the custom EL fairmont grille so I decided to fit it inside the bottom of the front bumper replacing the original black one, came out pretty well but it did involve removing the whole front bumper which was a pain.

Image

Also wired in a new CD player as the old tired premium sound system stopped working. It's only a eclipse head unit, nothing special but got it for nothing. I kept the DSP bottom part in just to fill the gap.

Thanks mate. Already ditched the mudflaps about 2 weeks ago due to always bottoming out lol. Defiantly want to get some clear side repeaters and el fairmont body moldings with the chrome too.
