Hey, just picked up our new car on friday finally, Black VF SS Wagon, nothing too flash just the new family hack to cart the kids around and go camping, holidays etc, loving the car, the interior finish is flawless, looks awesome, feels awesome too, love the power, big change from a standard 6cylinder EF and a hyundai getz, all i want to do is just exhaust and rims thats it.

Holden's interior is always infront of a falcon I reckon.

Nice pickup!

Thy are awesome to drive.
Wheels aren't the best but can be easily changed.

Great pickup for reliability and safety for the family over the other 2 you had.

Cheers

No doubt about it, these vf's are a big step up from the ve's. Especially the interior.

Walking round the display village yesterday I counted 6 Vf ss' and 2 gts'. And about 3 million euro suv's

I'm giving this plan 5 weeks. :P

Nice pick-up dude. I'm guessing this will be the last Aussie built wagon for a long time (if not ever).

Unbolt rear mufflers put nuts in there to space it and bolt it back up, cheapest exhaust and don't sound too bad to be honest

Nothing wrong with this pick up at all, the VF is a great car as everyone has mentioned. I haven't driven one yet, but they are certainly a nice place to sit!! Too bad the wagon doesn't have stick shift as an option anymore, but still makes for an epic family bus! I want a VF SS Ute with a stick as a company car, but not sure my boss will go for it!

These remind me of when FGs came out. Understated in the pics, much better in the flesh.

So i've racked up 7000km on it so far, loving the car, the only thing i hate is the electronic power steering, its so unpredictive and you need to be on the ball, it will randomly jerk when turning corners, which can be a bitch, i have heard off a lot of VF owners they dont like it.

Loving the power, ease to overtake, so comfortable it is, stereo pumps, leather is easy to clean with the mongrel messy kids. just waiting for the nudge bar to get released to buy one of them

Get that checked. My vf ssv ute steers fucking mint. Way better than our old baxr6t or all my e series.

its not all the time its only around certain corners, otherwise ther is no dramas, when i head up the range here in the overtaking going up hill around a bend it'll do it slightly, but otherwise its good

Looking great mate, definitely nothing to be ashamed of here. As you say, keep it simple on lease. Although personally I'd not modify it at all under those circumstances. Plus the wheels aren't too bad. Keep it stock and enjoy it I say.

not much of an update, car has clicked just over 22000, i've had no issues with it at all, well except for blowing a back tyre cruising on 120, just done a 3500km round trip last week on my 5 days off, sat on 120 most the way and averaged 10.9L which isnt too bad, when i get back into the mines again (just been made redudant) i am going to save for a full exhaust OTR and tune.

How's the steering? Has holden brought out a flash for it yet?

i havent heard of anything yet, what does the flash do, the electronic steering is pretty different compared to any other car i have driven, real sensitive around corners at speeds, got a service coming up on it soon

I don't know how the vf setup works but I'd imagine that there is software which controls how much assistance is given in any particular situation.

If lots of people complain that the steering is shit, I would have thought holden would revise the calibration for the steering to make it better.

Could even be a wheel alignment issue - if the wheel isn't perfectly central on the rack and/or the steering angle sensor isn't calibrated properly it would drive badly as well.

i'll question it when i book the car in next,

been like it since the day i picked the car up and even after a wheel alignment,

Not much of an update, but fark it haha, car is performing so good at the moment, cant fault it at all, been driving it from Mackay to Blackwater lately so it has copped a few animals, just birds and foxes, no damage thank goodness, got new tyres, got the Michelin Pilot Sports 2, alot quieter than the Bridgestones they are. Once we move to Blackwater i will be able to smash the overtime to finally buy some go fast parts for the car.

In the process of moving so borrowed a mates trailer, averaged 15.6L/100km sitting on 107 in 5th gear so cant complain too much about that.

100,000km the wagon has ticked over, not one mechanical issue at all, it has been on roads where a normal car shouldnt go, been through mud, sand, rocks, you name it, the inlaws have named it the Commorado, it has spent 75% of its time towing the Moto-X trailer across Central QLD, the front bumper is fucked from when i smacked a kangaroo but i have dodgied it up, has paint missing off the bar, a couple dents and scratches, it'll all get fixed up when i get a second car.

I cant fault the car at all, i still love it as much as the day i got it,

I'm still not sold on the VF front end but I love the rest of the package. Sucks to hear you've had some wildlife issues!

Had the wagon for 3 years and have clocked up 142,000km with trouble free motoring, it has been through hell and hasnt let me down, towed boats, bike trailer, pods full of diesel and still goes strong, i have finally upgraded, well bought a new car to replace the Commodore as a Daily Driver, brand new Colorado, amazing car and its damn comfy and has plenty of room aswell.
