mods so far: NOTHING :(

has lsd at least and rips good skids

coming on saturday is a set of stockies and then ill dump it and put them on, then probly exhaust and extractors.

still not sure if i wanna mod it just yet im a bit hesitant might wait it out until i can just buy a bf xr8 and spend the money on that instead (so maybe do things like wheels and stuff which can be put on the new car)

planning to keep this till im about 25ish as long as it doesnt turn into a BA lemon.

oh its a mk2 futura 2004 model with 81,000ks on the clock :)

Emmachwazit?

Why didn't you just get a XR8 in the first place?

Don't you mean XR6Turbo? Who'd buy an XR8 when you can buy a turbo 6?

BA NA6s are pretty amusing, my mates auto XT does 14.9s all day with exhaust, extractors, typhoon airbox and 3.9 LS diff.
Needs lowering badly, king ultralows all round, reset or g spec'ed in the rear otherwise they sit arse up.

1) cant afford xr8

2) cant drive it yet legally

3) why waste the dream now?

$16k it ended up costing

oh and insurance aswell. this is the first car insured under my name, so i can afford the insurance on an 8.
a el xr8 with some mods was ending up around 3k a year full comp with most of the main insurance companies and this ended up being 1700 through racv with market value of 19,000 current market value

    Why waste your time?

If you plan on the XR8, I personally wouldn't bother with the 'performance' mods on the BA. Wheels and springs are understandable but you may as well save as much as you can to get the XR sooner.

yer thats why im in 2 minds about it. its a great car and id like to modify it however at the same time i need to think hard about whether its worth it or not. wheels can be put on the xr8 anyway so they will definatly be on the list of things to do, and needs new brakes so im gettin dba slotted rotors(shuddddder lol)

Not a fan of silver stockies on BAs, doesn't look tough at all.
Do yourself a favour, get ultralows all round, get the rears compressed another 30mm, and paint the stockies black or get 19s

haha already had my first paranoid driver thinking i was the cops. a vs ute or something similar with exhaust stickers all over window, rims, lowered etc.

i pulled up next to him at lights sorta side on he looked over about 20 times (me and my mate both in it, wearing dark blue jumpers) then light goes green he drives off about as slow as the car could possibly go LOL.

You need two large aerials protruding from the boot for more cop-factor 8-)

the holes on the BA stockies are too small and crowded, and the centre bit sticks out too much.

Go for the SR kit with the Force lip or nothing :) aswell as SSL with a coil or 2 cut off.. Ultras dont look that low on BA/BF for some odd reason.

nah boys she wont be lowered at this stage cos a) ive got $15 to last the month out
and b) i love the suppper smooth ride can hit speed bumps at like 200 and not feel them haha

i was going to paint them at first but after seeing them on that xr they look a bit gimp.

she aint gettin xr/fpv panels, was thinking of just doing rear bar but decided not to cos it would look a bit odd.

no more mods planned just yet anyway still gotta sell my car and see how my finances play out maybe do some things when ive got more time to work more and do it right.

    Hmm I dunno man...

Not a huge fan of the taxi rims and I'm not sure that they would look any better in black. As long as you like it ;)

That Mercury XR looks way too ghetto for me.

    just need:

xr6t sump, manifold, dump pipe, water lines, oil lines, under battery intercooler pipe, boost control solenoid, boost pressure sensor, xr6t injectors, xr6t fuel reg, and xr6t ecu...oh and a trans that wont lunch itself when it gets power through it

so shouldnt be much more than 1k of parts left and ill have 230 or so at the wheels :D

oh and heres how the car looks now

Looks good mate, needs rims though!

Without sounding like a smart arse, if you want a BA turbo, why not return it to stock, sell it, sell your parts and get an XR6T? It'd most likely end up costing similar money in the long run, and you'd have better interior, stronger diff & drive shafts etc, plus it's pretty easy to find one with some decent mods.
