most things in and bolted up. have a twin 2.5" into single 3" herrod stainless exhaust bolted up to it for now but ill see how i go with boost spiking etc... might have to put stock back on or just get it tuned asap

If your using the stock dump it should be fine, no boost spikes.

Looks great BENTLS!

Mind you i didn't need to look it up here the 5min photo sms updates have been just fine!! :D

haha you love it tristan.

did a parameter reset on it to code the pcm to the bem today and kicked it in the guts. have no exhaust gaskets yet so it sounded like a truck and it was in limp home mode for some reason but not throwing any codes..... took for a spin with no bonnet built boost then dosed but have a vacuum/boost leak because i have got a bung ready for a boost gauge with no gauge in yet probly built 1-2 psi tops so far lol.

ok got it running all good today, limp home mode was just a case of incorrectly set vehicle speed sensor settings, was set to traction control not ABS only (As my car has no TCS)

fuckin hammers compared to na... oh god damn.

i need a tune fuckin bad tho cos with the monza cooler and herrod exhaust i have on it it is overboosting and backfiring like a bitch so just keeping boost down to avoid that till i get the tune sorted out....

Good stuff getting it all up and running. Get all the loose ends tied up and then get a tune going and it'll be sweet.

Did you cut the rear bar for the tips?

AWESOME!

cost roughly $3600 all up going for around 10psi or so. at the moment it would be spiking to that....

ultimately whatever chris from bluepower wants to run in it for it to handle the extra compression is what ill be running haha.
yeah sunny rear bar was hacked up to the max lol

Image

can u see it? hahah exactly what i was after... the exhaust i had was missing a rear hangar and the tips had already been chopped off so got lilydale mufflers to put 2 mild steel tips on it bent down before the bumper and a new hangar... was a bit worried when i went to pick it up thinking they might have made it obvious but standing next to the car you wouldn't notice a thing. couldnt be happier... and also only cost $50 which i thought was a fair price for the work involved etc.
Image

you have to bob your head under the car to see em which is mad.

and yeh i know orsmf6(theo)... he works at bluepower and is a good mate of tristan (blkphn) also the president of orsm ford cruisers....
hoping for 210-230rwkw once tuned.... if it wasnt overboosting right now i estimate around 200 or so rwkw as it feels quicker than mark_td's turbo.....

Nice work there.

If you do go down the engineering route...the biggest thing I would be concerned with is the discretion of the engineer when it comes to EPA test...despite having a BA - one engineer might pass it without looking twice...another may insist on the test. Obviously as you are aware, the extra comp of the N/A motor is the main difference if comparing to a stocko XR6T emissions.

dunno if this is a stupid question or what but did you gap the plugs? could be making it backfire an run worse..

Nice job tho! awesome sleeper should surprise a few people! i'm betting it'll go around 230rwkw ;)

the plugs are different, so we bought some turbo plugs on sunday.
could of gapped em but this way we 100% sure nothing is wrong with the plugs.

yeah put in brand new ngk iridium turbo plugs.

id say its just the extra compression of the motor causing it.... probly able to build boost quicker etc so it cant maintain a steady boost level as well...
oh well im sure chris will work his magic and have it running like a dream...

he said he doesnt want to run more than about 4psi through it which doesnt seem like much but considering stock xr6ts are 5-6psi and i have 10.7:1 compression instead of 8.7:1 ill probly still make as much power.

aren't you supposed to gap the plugs smaller than standard when it gets custom tuned? or just check the gap?

Re: BENTLS MKII

id say they change the gap and tune to the gap. or leave the gap and tune to that gap.

at the end of the day on a bog stocker i doubt it would make much difference.

yeah id be gapping them down a bit but thats completely upto u.
should take more the 4psi tho alot of other ba xt's take 10psi dont they?
cheers josh.

picked the car up today..... had to get a flash 3 as vcm suite didnt wanna work on it....

made 0rwkw as they never did a power run.....because 14psi on a na motor is not cool.

diaphragm in the wastegate solenoid is rooted (because im a dumb **** and cleaned the turbo with mag wheel cleaner and must of got some in the hole in the actuator when cleaning it and its eaten the diaphragm away) They have no control over the boost the wastegate just stays firmly shut lol.

changing the actuator over this weekend hopefully and if im lucky get monday or tuesday off work can drive it back in and get the power side of the tune sorted (shift firmness etc all done already)

had it on the hoist at work the other day looked up n saw that looked tuff so jus had to take a pic lol

holdnig 3-4 psi now so needs a retune next weekend hopefully it will run good on about 6psi and aiming for 211kw or more at the wheels.
