Simmo - ED XR6

I've had the XR since May 2004. It was and still is my first car. before the XR i drove mums '91 Mazda 626, ugh. Over the years i've spent a hell of a lot of cash on the car and a hell of a lot of time in the mountains practising. Although i enjoy watching drags and burnouts, i have absolutely no interest in doing it myself. My heart, and certain parts of the falcon over the years, are in the mountains and on the track. I've been trying to make my falcon handle like a go-kart as much as i possibly can, so the majority of my mods are to the suspension, brakes and wheels.

Hey mate. I love how tidy this car looks with the body coloured bumpers and red pin.

How are you finding the dynamics of your car with that sway bar setup? Mine tends to understeer when pushed with the 28 front, stock rear, urethane link and mount bushes, but I think that tends to be more of a problem with the rubber (15" rims lol).

they bars arent actually in yet. i knew someone would pull me up on it. they've been ordered and i put them in the list cos they will be on soon. if you dont change your driving style to suit, a bigger front swaybar will always add a bit of understeer. however, coupled with a bigger rear bar and change in style, you change the steering to the rear of the car. I.E. when you start to feel the understeer its going to be nice and easy to pop the back end sideways a bit and turn the under into over. "steer with the throttle" is the key phrase im working with. it doesnt have to be tank-slapping, balls-out drift, but even getting on an angle of a few degrees through the corner will revomve the understeer and increase your times. this will, of course, effect how quickly the rear tyres wear out.

The standard swaybar size is 22mm. You can get an adjustable 22mm or a fixed 24mm swaybar from whiteline. I have a 30mm front, and 24mm rear. I investigated all that crap years ago

He was gonna buy something from mid 70s to early 80s. Can't remember if it was gonna be a Falcon or an Escort though.

He had an old charade that him and his mates were boosting last time I was at his place. I heard from one of his friends that the project was scrapped shortly after they got it running. Smallest turbo I've ever seen BTW... well apart from the turbos on Revengelane's car. 8-)

XR6ED is the rego plate on the car, my mates didn't realise it was an ED until they learnt about it, so they assumed its name was Ed and its stuck lol.

well, i'd make sure all your bushes, shocks and springs are doing their jobs first before spending money on sway bars. decent bushes make HUGE difference to handling.

hey, yeh i'm alive. i got the turbo charade project about 70% done then lost interest and sold everything. i crashed the lame auto 323 i had bought for a grand off my dad up the side of a bus trying to merge around it. and since then i've been driving an awesome 93 BG Astina with the BPT 1.8 dohc turbo jap import motor. havn't been beaten yet, but i saw Rollin the other day on Abbotsford Rd going the opposite direction and making a shitload of noise and i really wanted to bang a u turn and give him a run.
