SOLD THE LTD going to miss that car :this:

Did end picking up one of those custom air boxe's which will complete the cold air intake
but due to running plastic piping i'll be losing power so im now thinking of a difillipo setup..

Other things i'll organise this week is vernier gear & clutch kit..
Leaving it down to reinforcing the firewall then dial in the cam and dyno tune...

Dont want to achieve that much just to prove to myself that if you put your mind to it that it can be done..

Found the polished panel hides where the snorkel should be and tidy's up the rad support
as a few engines scrapped it..
Also decent cai i mean 1 that aint made of plastic as i'll prefer fibreglass
Next will be clutch kit, firewall section, machine flywheel & vernier gear..

Nice work, car looks great.

I reckon some black spray paint on the firewall insulation would neaten the bay.

Manual fitted august 2009 so it wasnt that

Got 12 or 13 passes yesterday
Launching with these tyres and a manual is hard as it kept bogging down

Will put up pics soon

Those rear tyres/wheels look tuff! i want.

Pretty close to a 14! not bad for a big fairlane, i rekon you should aim for the 14.0 area ;)

Car weighs 1600kg on rego sticker then myself 80kg
Take in mind the 15.1 pass was done while air temp was 20'c and track temp im unsure of
Usually when it becomes later on in the night track temp cools down and i get quicker passes
Street meet was only 12-4pm so if it went into the night i would of got a 14 sec pass

In sayin all this i had run a 15.3 then went back to my area unbolted the headlight and indicator
to see if the brockyb8 airbox would make a difference and had 3 15.1 passes straight after :yahoo:

So all thats left before heathcote is a vernier gear n dial in the cam then dyno tune
Thinkin bout goin j3 but seeing what i can get before that if i was to go j3

Checked a et calculator to see my approx power says i have 212.36rwhp which is 158.35rwkw
guess the dyno will give a precise reading

i always had the idea of pulling a stock headlight apart and making an induction out if it. basically remove the glass (or plastic in your case) then a pipe from the access hole in the back to the intake

Mate i remember you saying that some time back so with your thought
im thinkin i'll pull a high series one apart using just the housing and spray it black
or find one with a faded plastic cos they just get thrown out anyway

Thanks Mate :drinks2:

i actually started making one about 3 years ago with a smashed headlight but no idea what happened to it lol. well worth the few minutes of clip undoing. with the EF/EL style light you might be able to cut between the 2 access holes top and bottom to make a big oval area. might only be needed with boost but the more the better i guess.

In sayin all this i had run a 15.3 then went back to my area unbolted the headlight and indicator
to see if the brockyb8 airbox would make a difference and had 3 15.1 passes straight after :yahoo:

im not sure if removing headlights & indicators is a good measure of how well the new intake works?

by the sound of it, the new airbox is restricting things
