good stuff, best of both worlds on the interior
EB/ED Ghia seats and the EF/EL Trims/Dash

amazing how common the conversion is becoming

Hey Guys

Stav50 - While I like many of the EF/EL components, I really don't like the rear end of the EF/EL. And, what fun is it owning a stock looking EF/EL when I now have a rocking EB.

purped - The Auto Knob is actually an original EL GT Auto Knob in Black Perforated Leather that I was lucky to get brand new.

EFFalcon - Yes mate, it is the best of both worlds. It is quite surprising how well they gel together. And the ED Ghia seats are the best.

Maybe one day, it will be boosted too.

Nice work mate, looks great! You planning on doing the EF/EL column and wheel?

Good to see you made it over here Ben. It's a great EB you've got.

private9 - now why would I stick the ugly airbag steering wheel in an EB? I like my leather wheel and custom cruise setup. Feels really good.

Dezza - Cheers Mate. Been lurkin for a while, but thought I would post the bitsa up.

Good work, what have you done with the cruise?

I personally like the airbag wheels, and would prefer it over an aftermarket one but that's just me.

I am running the EL Cruise Module with a custom built loom to interface with my EB/EL hybrid dash setup.

I built a custom bracket to mount momentary swtiches and installed the correct resistors to work with the EL Cruise Module. The switches are positioned to be activated by the tip of my index finger, while being out of the way and sight.

Some pics.

Works brilliantly, and allows for the use of what ever aftermarket wheel you want to use. Boxcars only, as they don't need to have the airbag to be legal.

Fair enough. My moto is, 'You build it for yourself, the way you want it'.

You've done some awesome work mate. The cruise control system is impressive.. You must be good with your wiring and electronics.

You just need to spend some time under the hood neatening it up (in my opinion) - coat the extractors, new coolant bottle and clean up the battery. Any plans on neatening up the exterior? i.e. exhaust tip, tow bar, badging etc.

I wish EBII or ED came out with interior exactly like that. They needed to freshen it up instead of the shitty EA setup. Good work.

Cheers Mate. I don't mind dabling with electronics etc. Just takes some patience and logic.

Yes I agree with you. Under the hood does need work. However I think the only way is to repaint the bay, but that won't happen for a while. I do have plans to hide the wiring, tidy up the battery terminals etc, and I have an AU rocker cover that I am smoothing before paint.

Re the exterior, as this is an every day car, the towbar will stay, but will be painted at some point. I am on the hunt for a different exhaust tip as the current one is beyond saving now. The badging I actually like at the moment, but have some plans to create something a little unique. I will be providing some bonnet ventilation in the next few months, and am considering the SVO look with the lower half of the car in a dark grey.

Many thanks.

All the work done on my car is done by me or friends on an extremely tight budget. So it all takes time.
