Nath's EL GLi... Now Turbo

Hi everyone well now that I’ve done some mods and got some decent photo’s I thought I mite post up a thread on it, Anyway I brought this EL GLi about 3 months ago after I did some searching for about 3 months looking for a decent car, I had found a EF Fairmont for $3500 in great condition but when I rang up it had sold, so then one day on the way to skewl I saw this el and it had $5000ono on the window so I grabbed the number of it but never rang, but then it was in the paper for $4500 n I rang up n went had a look at it then I asked how much he wanted he said $4500 registered as it was unregistered and from S.A or 4000 with VIC roadworthy cert so I went home and talked the olds into lending me the $4000 and then gave him a call and he dropped it round on the following weekend with a roadworthy cert and then I got it on the road 2 days later.
After I rego’d it I put the 2.5 inch catback that I got of my girlfriends brother, he took it off his turbo’d EL because he got a 3inch. Then I ordered my new springs and shocks ultralows/superslows with Monroe shortened shocks from work they got here about 2 weeks later and I chucked them in the following weekend with help from a mate to get the front in. then just last week my shift kit came from shiftkits.com and I wired that in after school, and I chucked in a chap Sony x-plod heap unit I got from work then I just neatened it up a bit took the towbar out and the bar that runs behind the bumper and got a plug for the hole that was left and sprayed it the same colour as the car that’s it so far.
Future mods include getting some new wheels and hopefully getting a tickford snorkel and paceys of a mates EF before he sells it, then I was thinking about turboing it next year but I don’t really know if its worth it yet. if I do turbo it I’ll change any exterior mods back to stock such as wheels to give it more of sleeper look. anyway heres some pics..

this is when I got it

the day I lowered it

first time I gave it a wash

new pic looks a bit high though

Car had been out of action for about 3 months due to a cracked windscreen, then i finally got the windscreen fixed so i could sell it, then i got offerd to swap for a boosted el the guy backed out at the last minute

.... so i brought myself a stage 3 snort turbo kit,, so plans now are to keep the falcon and boost it, have allready got the kit just waiting on screamer pipe and front mount then just needa bolt the manifold/turbo on i have allready done the oil lines and just needa bolt the gearbox and motor back together, then all i need to do is get 3 inch exhaust and intercooler piping done done and put a my walbro 255 in then its good to go... hoping i get it all done and ready to drive before i get my P's

haha negitive, i couldnt bear having standard size plates no matter how much more sleeper they made it... unless they garanteed 0 cop attention haha
Dumpsta wrote:Just noticed the paint in the engine bay is different then the paint on the outside, well so it appears in the photo.. ? Have you had the 3" fitted?
i think its because the engine bay doesnt have a gloss finnish on it? and the lighting in the pic does make it alot worse though, nuh i havent, will be getting it sorted out next week when im back in my home town for trade school

yeah i was thinken something similar to your mounts sexry6, they do look neat as.. i just need to hold the bottom of the cooler out away from the air con stuff because there isnt much clearance behind there,
ummm as for the cooler piping..leaving that till next weekend still not 100% what to do with it, were exactly to run it and were to cut the holes.. have had a play with those bends i got off ya, i will get a 180 and a few straights to cut up n should hopefully be able to do 80% of it, did you get those peices that i got off ya from MTC?
