BI6TIM's new daily driver.

I recently just lost my company car as a result of changing jobs, so I needed another car to drive to work and back for a while.
I'll drive this thing until I get the falcon up to daily driver status and then I'll be spending some money on this to drift it.
I decided the Falcon is too heavy to drift. Obviously it can be done but I couldn't be bothered going to the lengths I'd like to to make the falcon good enough.
The other thing is I'm too scared of breaking the falcon on the track so I never go hard enough.

Enter S13.

As you can see it has a green boot lid on it, that's because I couldn't get the monstrosity of a wing off the original boot lid, below.

Note the SICK Nardi wheel! Also the Ford floor mat, it's all I had in the garage and the original was covered in clutch fluid.

Now for the most exciting part, get your sr20de out.

This car is currently so slow, I had trouble keeping up with Raebird's turbo diesel courier ute!
The best part is, though, I should not have to make anything custom on the road to hp. There is sooooo much wicked stuff for this car straight off the shelf, I love it!

Anyway, it's a bit rough but at $2700 for a manual SR, I couldn't go past it.

not a bad pickup for $2700, Its not something I'd buy but still sounds perfect for ya plans.... Those
rims look pretty decent too.... that wing looks terrible.....

Good choice, manifolds on ebay are sub $200!! I have thought about getting one too.

Its definitely gonna make drifting easier, you shoulda got one in the first place! :P

What will become of your relationship with snort? Will all of his stickers be removed if you are dailying it?

Getcha JDM out!

I hate your steering wheel  it makes me want one.

You're right Dan, I should have got one of these when I first decided I wanted to drift. I guess I was just too much of a bogan and thought I could take it to the imports in a falcon  Pretty funny really.

All the stickers will stay on the falcon as it's a bit of a rolling advertisement. I'll take them off if they become a problem, like vandalism etc.

Love the wheel! Nice price for a manual SR and parts are so cheap for these things, makes me miss mine. Apparently the DE's are fairly strong, and can make reasonable power with a turbo on the standard comp - should be great for low to midrange.

+1 cheap bits. Be careful with china crap tho, some of it isn't worth the $0.05c/kilo for scrap.

I scored a stainless turbo manifold off eBay for $70 delivered. Can't beat it.

DE+T time!

That seems like the popular choice so far, heaps of people tell me to do that.

At the recent Hi-Power dyno day there was a dude with a DE+T. Std computer with SAFC, std dizzy, std engine, std DET cast manifold and t25. He made 180rwhp on 6psi with acceptable afr's. He had it on 12psi when it went on the dyno but the afr's were not acceptable and it only made 195rwhp anyway.

I'll be looking around for some cheap sr20det stock turbo stuff to go on it then. If anyone sees anything of interest, let me know.

yeah a guy at work has an s14 factory turbo but im amazed how easy he has made power.
he has a tuned length manifold a bigger turbo (he doesnt no what it is) and a z32 airflow meter and makes 202rwkw on 16psi and on 20psi itll make about 230-240 but hes knock sensor was stuffed.
looks pretty clean for the price as well good job.
cheers josh.

Yeah the only real differences between the DE and DET are piston oil squirters and CR. Nothing to get too excited about. The part that kind of sucks is drilling & tapping the block for the oil/water fittings. Still, other than your time its not an expensive option.

I think I'll still buy a DET complete motor and loom etc. to put in it. You can still get them up here for about $1800-$2000 for engine, turbo, manifolds, wiring loom and computer. If you want a complete front cut it's normally more like $2750-$3000 depending on where you buy it from.

How's your silvia going TUFED? You built a motor for that not long ago didn't you?

Though the sites are a little gay, keep an eye on http://www.nissansilvia.com and http://www.boostcruising.com - plenty of this sorta stuf pops up regularly.

Good stuff ,the SR20 is great motor. i just put a mild blacktop out of an s15 in the 180sx and it punched out 224RW/KW :D :D.

Bang for buck you just cant beat them.

Is that a sliver top sr like the pulsars have??

Yeah its been going good. I'm over it now tho and I'm trying to sell it. Just want something with four doors as its a real pain in the arse having two cars with two doors (Sil & Ute).

I'm tempted to put a boost tap on it and see what it can really do, but CBF. :D

Yeah man, let me know. I'll do it if it's cheap enough.
What's wrong with the red top motor you pulled out of the 180?

This thing is an awesome wet road warrior! It doesn't have anywhere near enough horsepower to do anything fun when the road's dry but since we've had afternoon storms nearly everyday over the last week or so, I've been having some fun.

The car does most of the work, I'm mostly a passenger. Soooooo much different to a falcon!!!! Love it!

They are a completely different beast aren't they!

You can just throw them and they are just so predictable and precise.

Good to hear your having fun with it dude!

Have another look around for a shell mate. A few days ago I saw a nice straight s13 silvia shell for $900 with decent paint.
I think you should rethink what engine you plan to put in it though. Everyone I've spoken to who has put a 6 in a silvia regrets it, makes them understeer pretty bad.
