The "Borrowed" E-Series...

Sometimes there are definite "perks" to a job! My missus works for a Taxi/Limo hire company...and while we are still trying to get her EB wagon registered...her boss has allowed her to borrow this for the time being...

It is an NA Fairlane "Spanmore" Limo...4.0L six, 3-speed auto on gas, with a royal blue interior...and seats 8. LTD grill and rear garnish, and other LTD options throughout...

Of course I had to make sure I got a drive (no license and all!) just on the outskirts of Ballarat...near Cardigan Village...

Handles absolutely beautifully....feels like it just "floats" along the road...but of course it could use some "dumpage" and some decent rims and tyres!
I will no doubt be spending a bit of time with this limo in the near future...as a few little cosmetic things could use repair/maintenance...and the owner just never gets the time...

Trust me....with the way this thing drives....it could use staying auto (4 speed though!) but I agree with it using some boost! It takes off so slowly....just because of the sheer weight of it!

Nope 3spd autos take off slowly lol.

Maybe the weight will help with building boost

Either way....unfortunately it will probably never get boosted....we have only borrowed it for now....but who knows....maybe the missus boss might decide to update at some point....and maybe sell this one to me..... :D

Not a chance...for 2 equally important reasons....
1. Not enough balls...
2. Not mine....

The car....it has nowhere near enough guts to get the tyres spinning!!! And as the thread says....it is borrowed....

Maybe later....we had the kid's booster seats in at the time....and the rear seats are covered with crappy seat covers...going to do a couple of little jobs to tidy it up a bit....and to help the boss out....if all goes well it should be at AFD, anyway....

Truly would be nice to see a limo on its guts with big wheels, though the physics dont work so they're all sitting in the sky, I recall my brothers wedding, he had a stretched XY Gt, apparently the longest in the world and it deadset looked fugly because of how high it was sitting. I can just imagine sitting grounded on a speedbump rocking back and forwards... that is waht people do in limo's right?

HAHA, thats rad... I want the boomerang.

Limo daily drivers are getting more popular.

A guy in Geelong has a WB Stato Limo as a daily.
My uncles neighbour in Williamstown has a Merc Limo.
Both arent as stretched as that one however.

Well the Limo is definately confirmed as having been entered for AFD...just a few little tidy-up jobs to be done...this Limo is far from "concourse" condition...so don't expect miracles...but purely for it's uniqueness...and for the fact that we can use it on the day...are the primary reasons for bringing it along...
So if there's any Ballarat members...interested in putting in a few hours of their time between now and AFD...then please...feel free to let me know!
