Max's Eseries... No more

Postby someLS1 » July 17th, 2007, 1:43 am

Ive never really put many pics of my cars before and now that they are all long gone ive gotten around to it... i guess seeing all these awesome eseries in one spot has made me feel somewhat nostalgic.. so sorry to bore you all with cars that arent around anymore and that were never boosted hehehe but here goes

My first car was an EL Fairmont purchased at the auctions back in 2003.. here it is at its best
Image
Image

Hehehe private road ofcourse....
Image
Honestly id probably still be driving this car if it hadnt got stolen being my first car i couldnt bear to sell it for some reason lol Got stolen a few years ago and this is the state it was recovered in the next day.. had a lot of scratches on it basically needed a respray.. replacement of stolen parts and they found the auto was damaged so the insurance decided to write the car off and it went off to auction
Image

After the EL got written off i got my pay out and the first thing i bought was a cobalt blue ed ghia.. i only had this car for around 3 months so not much to say about it really.. but here it is looking mint after Pat [D1SCNT] & his old man pulled all the dints and resprayed most of the car.. thanks alot for that bro

Image

Now finally to the final instalment lol.. and most definatly my favourite eseries out of what ive owned i bought it 100% stock start of 2006 around the time the ED got sold.

My EL Fairmont Ghia
Heres a before pic taken straight out of the tradingpost ad
Image

It didnt stay stock for very long at all infact the week i started driving it, it got lowered on superlows, and got a catback exhaust...
Over the year i had it ended up having the following done to it:

Ultra low lovells with adjustable koni yellows all round
Full EL tickford bodykit minus the rear spoiler
17" AJR Directors
Rebuilt 3.73 LSD
Auto with electronic Shift Kit
Dev 5 Cam with adjustable vernier gear
Genie extractors and 2.5" exhaust
Bit of a stereo intall (Still got all the gear for my next car)

Never got to run it at the drags at its peak but it ran a 15.07 1/4 mile at heathcote with a dev 3 hl and no extractors so wouldve been good to see it run with everything on.

Also had a T5 conversion sitting ready to go but things changed....

Here is a few pics courtesy of Joe aka jjm on the way to the summernats this year good times!!!

Image

Image

I probably woulda still had this car if i didnt lose my license but since i couldnt drive it anyway i decided to sell it a few months back now.. i kinda regret it but i dont at the same time as its gone for bigger and better things.. but it woulda been nice too boost it..

Thats about it really thanks for reading :D

Yeah good write up man, all 3 of the cars were nice, and the last 2 were practicly mint.

many memorys of these cars back in the day, like breaking down at the servo in the ED, chaging half the things in the engine, and it still wouldnt run properly only to realise the map sensor hose was still disconected...fools.

and also the many mods we did to the regency EL, the biggest pain was fitting up the damn body kit!!!!i still have nightmares about it. this car was freakishly quick and im dissapointed we didnt get to see the full potential of it with a manual because i know it made a big difference on my slug of a car.

P.S - That ED got the best new lease on life. First me and Gill cleaned the interior right up to brand new spec and then you took over and did the exterior. Hopefully the new owner is looking after it.

Thanks for the comments guys the last one was definatly the best, not planning on an i6 anytime soon but you never know what will happen...

Sunny yea woulda been good to have bought your old EL but in the end it had cappa interior couldnt get past that hahaha

Also yea that ED got the works also got some new front seats so there wasnt any tears and a few other little things inside leather wheel new parcel shelf etc so it was a good team effort :) Actually its up for sale again on carsales it seems its got a shiftkit now and a SIK!!! Preston and Autos sticker on the rear window.

Max your EL was soooooooooooooooooooo HOT. Musn't be too long now till your mobile again now. I think I want an EL Ghia now.

That EL Ghia was the best!

Regency is such a great colour and you modified it to perfection.

It was bloody quick as well. I remember on GOR last year with Zervos behind the wheel keeping up with me as if I were driving a Camry. lol

Thanks Gilly i shouldve kept it but i really wanted something newer for a change, if i had enough money i wouldve loved to have kept it and bought a new car.. Looking at getting a manual VY SS or VZ SS.. preferably a cheap VZ kinda starting to prefer them over VY... once i pay it off maybe ill buy a boosted eseries to drift around in

I reckon VY. They look much tougher than a VZ, I don't know why. Just like a VN SS over a VP SS - sometime's the earlier model is the nicer looking one.

I used to sht myself every time I saw a VY SS, first cop car that ever pulled me over was a silver one lol.

Well its not eseries its not boosted its not ford but heres some pics of my new car!!!

Its a 2004 VZ Calais LS1.. pretty much stock cept it sounds alot tougher and louder then any stock ss or calais ive heard so i assume its had some exhaust mods. These pics were taken the 2nd day i had it and since then all ive done is peel off the ford sticker off the rear window!!!!!.. immediate mods im gonna take the tow bar off, put superlows in and hopefully get some sort of rims cause im not too into the stock ones.. anyway enjoy.. or not enjoy its your choice lol

This is my favourite part atm the outside is too stock!!!

Good stuff man, keep us posted on the mods.

Thanks dude, yea the wheels could be worse but im not a huge fan just have to see how the money situation is even if i get some better rims wont be anything too expensive.. but wheels atm for me is probably the most critical mod lol..yea i have ultralows but i think i might be soft for a while and drive with superlows hahaha then when i get sick of the height ill put the ultralows in..

Thanks mate but my EL was very stock when i got it and look what i did with that all i need is time.. especially to pay the fecken thing off!!! LOL
But i do have johns full di fillipo exhaust extractors, high flow cats the lot, springs and a few other things to put in so with any luck wont be stock for too much longer.
