An XD Speedo Transducer should sort out the speedo. Not sure how it goes with the V8 auto ecu... Commando, if you read this, what did you do when you fitted 4.11's?

I think he left his speedo incorrect.

I reckon he needs a speedo box like you have man, his shift points will be all over the shop.

i reckon a good start would have been F**KING GEARS THAT GO TOGETHER LIKE THEY ARE F**KING MEANT TO. as per usual with car related shit, nothing goes smoothly or to plan, paul informed me this morning that the 3.9's i had were no good, so new ones had to be purchased. i may as well just throw my wallet into a bonfire

It drives beautifully!!! I'll sort the speedo reading out tomorrow, and change the inhibitor switch as well.

The 2nd hand 3.9's would not mark up correctly. :( The new gears marked up correctly first go.

It appears as though the diff had been attended to earlier, as one of shims next to the carrier bearing was half put in, bent and all sorts of fuct. Not to mention the oil that drained out of it had a high metal count.... haha

got the sprint back, drove it... and FKIN LOVE IT... it is so damn nice to drive, feels completely different but in a good way :D

only possible problem is that Paul thinks the lokka isn't unlocking at all, having never driven a car with a lokka i'd honestly have no idea, the inside wheel does skip and skid a bit when going slowly, but as i said i'm not sure if they are meant to do that a bit or not

there is actually a reason i did this, i got tired of dragging my 18's around corners, i'm glad i did too looking at the wheels after i took them off, the treads already 'tearing' (can't think of a better description) at the corners. so thanks to FOR.0EL for lending me some stockies :drinks2:

If you jack the car up and get someone to hold one wheel you should be able to turn the other wheel and hear the clicking, repeat for the other side. If you can't turn one wheel with one hand while someone holds the other one then that's not right.

The instructions (photos) provided by 4WD systems look like they were drawn by a 3yr old with a crayon.

e series falcon wrote:should of got dan to fit it mines perfect :P

We would have got Dan to do it, but it needed new gears, and they need to be marked up properly. If they are just thrown in, there's a fair chance it will be noisey, and wear-out pre-maturely.

pHaT`eL wrote:Sorry about the gears, although they did come out of a Falcon.. Weird!

??? Which model falcon did they come out of? Where they new when they were fitted, or second hand from a skyline? The gears have a few chips on the crown wheel also. :(

The diff is locked with the car is rolling in neutral, so I dare say it would do it jacked up.. :(
