welded diffs dont hold together very well

get a mini spool
70mm t/b and maf, extractors and exhaust, 2500 stall, stage 2 shift kit, ultra lows, pioneer/clarion stereo.

soon to be 347...

If you go ahead with welding (i.e, not getting a spool) PM: NUT347, ziracon or impraven, as they have all done it.

Drain the diff, undo the watts linkage at one end, take the rear cover off, empty a can or three of brake cleaner into the centre, fill spider gears with weld, laugh at brake cleaner/diff oil catching fire, put everything back together and fill diff. Do skids. Easy.

Done properly you'll bust axles just as you will in a spool and they'll probably be harder to change if you've managed to weld them to the gears. Done shithouse you'll probably just bust the welds. It was a bit tricky getting the MIG into the centre, might be easier with an arc welder.

I think you can get mini-spools for like $80 off ebay dude - they would be your strongest and easiest bet.

Where do you live?

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.
