Bud's TOPGIA

Postby TOPGIA » September 12th, 2007, 4:28 am

Hi everyone, I'm new around here and this is my TOPGIA, a '96 EFII Fairmont Ghia 5.0 V8. I bought the car in June'07 with electric sunroof, body kit, FTR suspension and 16" wheels, all factory fitted. It also had extractors and 3" exhaust. Here are the pics the day I bought her.
Image

Since than I removed the tow bar and body side stripes, shaved the badges at the back, filled up the holes and repainted the rear panel. Tinted the windows, put K&N filter, changed the exhaust tips, fitted NF Fairlane cornering lights, side moulds and clear repeaters, BF Ghia badges, new headlights( with Phillips Crystal Vision globes) and blinkers. Also reversing sensors( got used to them from my previous car BA Ghia), SVI dual fuel conversion, King Spring superlows with Monroe GT shocks and 19" BF Typhoon replica wheels.

Sorry for the crappy pics, will take proper ones soon.

Next week I'm putting on DBA slotted and drilled rotors, Bendix pads and painting the callipers. After that taking the boot wing off and maybe BA bulge on.

Cheers,
Bud

Neat work mate. It'll look tops without the rear spoiler.

How does the car feel with the SVI? How much was it fitted?

Thanx mate, I got her with just over 142K km on the clock, now its on 148K. Picked up the wheels for $1050 + tyres. The only interior shots I've got are these from the ad.

After I fit new brakes next week, I'll take some pics with a proper camera.

Thanx XRated, there is no noticeable power loss, apart from extra tank weight. It feels like having an extra passenger in the car. Runs really smooth, no backfiring issues, stalling etc. And the best thing is saving money! :D My average consumption is 18l/100km on lpg, and about the same on petrol. On average I'm saving about $40+ a week. I paid $3950 for the conversion, got the $2000 grant back, so in about a year it will pay itself off.

Cheers,
Bud

Very nice looking car mate! The colour and wheels look great together.
I laughed at that last photo. I would love one like that with some promo girls around it, but just touching it like they are would've scratched my paint...

Thanx for the comments guys, and sorry for lotsa pics!

Been thinking about different wheels lately, my brakes look tiny behind the 19s. I want the dish and wider rear wheels like Simmons OM/FR 17s or 18s, with gold centers. Since the car is driven daily(about 500kms a week), it would be more comfy too.

Cheers,
Bud
