Value of 1974 XB falcon 500 with T code engine

Postby Ratchet » April 1st, 2009, 9:11 pm

Had someone today offer the above for 5k plus delivery charges.
Any ideas on what the value of this would be, heard they were designed to catch the phase 4.
Thoughts?
Pretty average condition, still has the original auto installed.
otherwise factory everything.

very average, rust spots in usual places, interior needs replacing no rego or rwc, as its been sitting in a shed for the last 10 years.
apparently these were quicker down the quarter then the phase 3 or phase 4, not sure on that, maybe someone is being a dodge.
would probably need about 10k to get it back to good condition.

non-GT XBs (and later-built GT XBs?) had 2V heads didn't they? I don't see a factory auto 2V XB chasing a factory 4V manual XY/XA down the 1/4 and winning.

end of the day its only a 500... if hes offering it at 5k then i would put its value at less than that, simply for the fact that 99% of sellers start at a higher value than what they would accept.

old adage is true... its worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

remember that rust work can get real expensive to fix, real fast, unless your in a position to do it yourself. plus 10 yrs sitting in a shed will most probably mean tthe driveline will need a rebuild as well.
