Hi Guys,
Not in a good mood!!
I recently got me diff rebuild with the list:
- Kaaz center (2nd hand, did 300km because wife wanted out of car)
- 3.9's gearset (Brand new)
- New nuts and bolts (Stronger)
- Bearing, shims etc (All new)
- Kaaz oil
I followed all instructions to..
- I did figure-8's varying size for 20mins and no more then 20km/h
- never did more the 80km/h
- I never drove for more then 30 mins
- I did all this for 800km.
From there I was told I can basically do anything I wanted as the bearing will be bedded correctly.
So I drove from Wagga to Orange at 100km (After the first 800km) and that when shiet happened.
I don't really know what happened and this is where I need advice..
In a straight line the car is fine, but around corners it makes a GOD awful LOUD CRACK noise in the diff. It shakes the entire car and it destroying everything.
So slow corners it goes clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk until you straighten up. Round-a-bout's does the same.
If you roll through a corner it doesn't make a noise, but as soon as you touch the accelerator it does it.
I took it back and they said they will look on Monday so I wanted some advice/question I can come as these guys with so they dont stuff me over again!
I am thinking its possibly cooked itself and has seized up. When its cold its far better but once its hot its stuffed!
Maybe the axle is binding up somehow and letting go?
Center stuffed?
Any advice welcome,
Cheers,
Matt
