Snaping The Tail Sharft In The Back Of The Gearbox?

Has Anyone seen this happen befor?

i done it to mine last week and the mechanic told me you dont see this happerning to street cars to often.
and that you need alot of power to snap it into the back of the gearbox (but i dont have alot of power)
has anyone seen this happen befor on an e serise??

not realy,i was just coming home from work and kicked the clutch in 2nd (wich who hasnt lol) and the next thing i no im getting towed home lol

hahaha.

lucky i had the brace so the tailshartf didnt go into the road! wich i didnt even no i had lol.

well at least i can say i dont think that will ever happen to me again in my life :grin:

just that by the look of the old oil everywhere the seal is leaking, which can be caused by the bearing/bush in there being worn ;)

Everyone should hv a loop or brace by the looks of that.

Maybe it's happened before to the car for some reason, and they guy has put the brace in to prevent massive damage if it happens again?

i couldnt find anything leaking,it was leaking new oil wen i done it thou,because when it broke the seal broke..but still not much was coming out since i wasnt on a hill..

i no he use to run it up the 1/4 a fair bit and the car has had a pritty hard life till i got it. (part from me snaping the tailsharft lol)

i thought you had to have the brace or you couldnt take it up the 1/4? or am i wrong?

well its all fixed now anyway,just took abit to get all bits out of the back of the gearbox!
