Man that looks awesome. How do you stop the rocker cover from corroding after you've polished it up? Mine looks ok after I wash the engine bay and I've even tried spraying a bit of WD40 on the cover but after a month or so it starts developing a white, rusty powder in some spots. :?

I'll bring the ED in Shaun.
We'll sand all the paint off, polish it up and clear coat it.

Not sure how I am going to counteract that yet suppose ill see to it when it start to do it.

I would think WD40 would have a reaction to the fresh metal I may try some clear over the top and see how it comes up.

You just reminded me of a car I saw in Mt.Eliza few weeks ago. Had a chrome paint job, chrome tint and the plates spelt out CHROME.
It was a Lexus I think...I almost drove right into it coz I couldn't stop staring at it haha.

just do what i do.. run open breathers and let everything get covered in oil.

that would work well if it wasnt polished. the chrome/shine wont be there in ur method....but good thought anyways

I'm doing the rocker covers on the 2jz, which hasnt been a whole lot of fun lol, but im doing it all by hand. if you have some patients and the right tools you can do some mad shit.
XG Panelvan
EF bottom end with ported EB head, valve springs, EL ECU & J3 chip, crane HI6 CDI & MSD coil, LC-1 wideband & SSI-4 logger

soon - .595" lift cam, GT4202, forged AU engine and built head, ems stinger 4424 ecu, powerglide with 5500 high stall etc - next, bellhousing

XH ute daily - DOHC BA XR6 engine, T5, AU3 ECU with TI J3 chip, ported BBM, 3" stainless intake - 12" sub, tub liner and hard lid - mass skids and epic tyre carrying capabilities :)

when doing cast stuff, would sand blasting get rid of some of the pores ?

I need to use that sandblaster at work for something :cool:

I'm tempted to do supra engine bay but its too damn busy and like i said it'd have to be all or nothing :P

We dont do it directly from work mate. We just supply to our dealers. Unless you want me to do it?
