My Old EB XR8 Written off

Postby xr8boy » January 9th, 2010, 12:26 am

I've been looking for these pics for a while a just found them. I was the only one in the car

ABS failed. The pedal went rock hard could budge it and hit some trees head on at about 100km's, fliped end over end and landed on the roof down a 3m embankment. Walked away with out a scratch or even whiplash

I ve since spoken to an ex ford mechanic who has seen quite alot of abs failures of the nature

I like falcons.... this one saved my life

Nut - words dont really tell the whole story ay

lawler - tried shifting down to 2nd but box wouldn't select gear and it was to late for the handbrake. The handbrake on an EB is hard enought to get in a carpark standing still let alone heading for some tree's at 100k's

holmsy - it was a couple of years ago cant remember when

lucky to walk away for sure i havn't bought a lotto ticket or even a scratchie since then. Kissed on the dick by an angel

The motor and gearbox where ok. They where the only two things that where salvagable. First thing i checked when i got home was if my intake manifold an TB were ok

This is the most fucked up e series i've ever seen

I can honesty say you realsise your mortality after something like this. You catch yourself thinking about it and thinking, ****, i could've died

It hit so hard in the front the centre of the diff hat where the watts link bolts to was smashed out the back

The bootlid was the only straight panel, i still have it up the back shed and one of the rims with a big chunk of alloy missing

I have a pic of it before the crash somewhere, i'm trying to find it

I dont think it was entirely the falcon at fault, i have a suspicion that the abs modules don't like circle work. With all the wheels travelling at different speeds kinda confuses them. This isn't proven at all just a suspicion

i don't know either. I'm 6'3ish and my head isnt far of touching the roof which is now considerably lower. All i had was a small cut on the top of my right hand where the A pillar came down on the steering wheel
