Street drift video on Current Affair tonight

Postby Malakai » February 2nd, 2010, 6:31 pm

They are playing the promos for it at the moment. Seems to be a white Silvia drifting on a wet mountain road surrounded by bush.

I'll be watching, the show is about to start.

I love it when these boring old people get uppity about something like this. It's funny because it's the sort of thing I see daily when it's wet and weekly when it's dry.

Update he also did a huge entry in the dry on an industrial estate, smoke pouring. It was pretty sick.

It was in the royal national park, north of Sydney apparently.

They have the number plate and the drivers name (Carlo, aka Crazy Carlo) but they are asking people to call ACA and tell them who he is so that they can get him on the show tomorrow night.

I hate ACA and shows of the like with such a passion, they are the wankers!

I caught that promo, not the right thing to do on public roads etc, but he did look to have pretty good car control.

I'd feel safer driving alongside this guy whilst he is sideways, than half the morons I come across on my daily commute.

yeh i was thinking that they may have faked a brake down further down 'accidentally' blocking the road. Would give them enough time to warn him.

I hope thats what he did anyway. I still prefer watching that then seeing a red 'p' plater who just got his license and is in year 12 get into a brand new BMW 3 series and dive through heavy traffic on Burwood highway

I <3 that vid, assuming he has spotters to warn of oncoming traffic.

The guy has skill, it's a nice change from the single wheeler peeler fuckheads in VT V6s I see all the time.

ACA and Today tonight can suck the poo straight out of my asshole.

“February 2, 2010: An outrageous YouTube stunt by a young driver – driving at top speed across double lines – has caught the attention of NSW police”

ACA you are a joke……. And this ^^^^ is your big headline of the night…..LOL!!!!!!!!

Do some reporting for once in your life, I love the words you used in your headline “outrageous”, top speed”, “double lines” and “hoon”

Any idiot that thinks this person did any of this drifting on the street without spotters (for the idiot readers out there spotters are people that are put in a position to notify you of any traffic via UHF to prevent a collision) is extremely farken stupid, plus on a quite mountain you can hear cars coming 1km away.

Also by this looks of the response so far only think ACA have managed to do is stir the pot and get more ratings which is no doubt in my mind why they ran this story, they don’t really care cause if you did they would help to provide more areas throughout Australia to embrace car enthusiast and get them off the street.

You know what the problem with the minority of the population is, SHOWS like this and the NEWS, they all, bullshit and turn hills into mountains.

Hoons today are seen, as the child rapist of the car world, when years ago it was seen as a culture and individuality, now days nothing but scum and, you want to know why some “hoons” treat police like scum.

Tracy Grimshaw ……FAT
Tom Steinfort…….Idiot face
Ian Luff……Wanker

They should all go…….right now…..go…… to the top of a building and jump off and if this doesn’t kill you, quick run…….into oncoming traffic NOW, before you rob anymore people of oxygen.

Tracy, by the way you still look fat….!!!!!!

i like how drifting is the fastest growing sport for rev heads.
so if your not a rev head you cant like drifting.
so when luff went through the road he was driving sensibly.

Pretty sure that's how most of the pro drifters get poached in Aus. I met Luke Fink, 2008 Aus Drift Champ, last year as he also does drift days and was teaching at the rally course I went on. Fricken champ bloke, mass skill! I went on a hot lap with him in a shitty AU V8 5 speed ute, and I shat bricks!!
Anyway, he told me the story of how he got started, and it was basically doing exactly this. Drifting on the street, word got around, and he got asked to drive for that team, Halfords I think, the green Sil. People who are stupid enough to do it in traffic and around crowds and that don't get anywhere. This is just usual hyped up bull.

Retards should be concentrating on the majority of drivers, most of the crap drivers I see on the roads are older people, like the dickweeds that always seem to be in front of me, stopping at a roundabout when its clear from 200m back that there are no cars coming, going or in sight, resulting in me nearly wiping their butt for them. And they'd probably call that 'careful' driving... I have no doubt, the best drivers on the road are the ones that have intentionally taken a few corners sideways in their life.

1+ for the guy who made this video, make episode 2 and actually just post it to the ACA personally.

The guy says its bad how he crosses the lanes in some of his drifts, but the guy recording the drift would easily see traffic coming and be able to do some sort of hand signal atleast to tell the driver not to go for it.

I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to drift without being sure there is no on coming traffic.

Few years ago a bloke I knew had his car on ACA after doing donuts at Noble Park Maccas (long before the riots)

To act on that, he had a big "As Seen On A Current Affair" sticker on the back window. Made a few lol's BITD..

As long as there are cars and young people, this shit will always be on TV.

ACA & TT still on the Air , proberlly why i dont watch TV anymore ,
as for the drifting in Nato Park A+ for skill - that rd is very slippery in the Wet , only way to do it is few cars blocking the rd at either end with CB's
