Sloxr6's EF XR6 Turbo 264RWKW With Problems. New Pics!!!

Postby Sloxr6 » February 17th, 2010, 10:15 pm

So I was a bit bored so I thought I would chuck my car up here as well.

So after 7 years of hard labor this is where I am at with the big girl now....

The motor has been setup to handle 20psi with:
Custom Forged pistons by special piston services.
Block has been decked bored and honed and o-ringed.
Crankshaft has been chriogenicly treated and nitrided.
The rods have been chriogenicly hardened and shot peined.
Custom copper head gasket. (8-1 Comp)
Head has been cc'd shaved lots of porting and polishing and bigger valves.
High volume oil pump.
Crow Cam 519.
570cc injectors with Bosch 044 supplying fuel.
All Balanced..
Currently running snort stage 4 turbo kit
Ebay American made beanie great beanie works well
Heat wrap and shields covered in heat wrap to try and keep temps down a bit.
Snort Polished Plenum.
68mm Throttle Body.
Front Mount Intercooler.
2.5inch redback exhaust system
Battery moved to boot.
The motor is controlled by a Microtech LT10s installed and tuned by Daltons Automotive in Geelong.
it also has twin stage electronic boost control, speco boost, water and oil gauges.
5 speed manual
9 inch 4.11's LSD
18 inch ANZ tycoons
UPC Big brake kit
Custom Interior seat covers door trims roof lining led dash conversion the works.
Custom Sloxr6 Roof lining
Clarion Touch Screen DVD Player Alpine splits up front and Alpines in the rear.

Current power is 200rwkw
Booked in for a tune on Monday expect at least 300rwkws otherwise she is all going to scrap

Current plans are too sell the car  or if I can get around it or get no interest I will keep it :yahoo: tidy the engine bay up more think it needs a bit more bling (eg polished overflow tank polished panel along the front of the motor like Phat EL ) Get all that sorted then she is off to get a new paint job. Other than that not sure where I can go from there think I have nearly covered everything any ideas welcome.

So there you have it this is where my pride and joy is up to.
Opinions and comments welcome let me know what you think

Yeah it took me ages to get them like that and I am still not 100% happy with them been thinking of taking them down to the local auto trimmer and getting him to put them on properly.

Yeah the body is the only thing letting it down now other than that it would be close

Are you going for a bigger exhaust system? 2.5 seems a bit restrictive for a stage 4 snort. Looking forward to seeing what it punches out once you get a good tune into it :good:

When it does get painted it will be painted the same color. The only thing I cant decide on is to paint the red strips the same color as the car on keep them red. The red breaks the car up but they also look real neat all the same color.

Yeah I would have to agree when I was 17 18 it was awsome. To change it back is on the list of things to do plus put a blue momo wheel in her. Body isnt bad just a few places of clear peeling off and a few little dints here and there. Yeah I am sort of on both sides on the fence in the selling side I would love to keep it couldn't handle seeing someone else drive her. But then I can't really drive it anymore so whats the point of it sitting in the shed.

I would say well hope it will be over that before the new motor Chris was pritty confident it would make that with just a proper tune without raising boost and better flowing motor.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the 2.5" exhaust. A 3 or 3.5" system will easily increase power. Also 12psi most likely will not reach 300rwkw. Rollin needed 15psi with a 3" Exhaust to make 300. BI6TIM was the same.

Also was he running a plenum? i cant remember..

Rollin made 307rwkw on the Hi-Power Dyno with a 6Boost manifold, T04Z and a 3" zorst on 15psi, also had massive fukk off cam and a ported head I think. He made 317rwkw with a 3.5" zorst, on the Hi-Torque Dyno, on 14psi IIRC. Also, stock EB/D MPFI Log inlet.

The 2.5 will not allow enough exhaust flow for anywhere near 300rwkw, It's like trying to run 100rwkw through a 1" pipe.
