Im doing that at the moment, hard work!! Especially for someone little like me lol

And some stupid truck decides to over take in 100km zone right in front of me this morning, SO close to a head on but hit the gravel to avoid it and was on the horn. Played the 'Im bigger then you' deal I think, even though he was in the wrong.

Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow and be on cruise on Sunday. Also got a few things lined up, will post once its done :) will be a work in progress

Armstrong power steering FTL!!!
I like that picture of what it would look like pink maybe a bit of a darker pink but with a purple pearl, it would give it a deeper more wet look. But in saying that you'd proberly be looking at somewhere between 10 and 15g for a paint job like that, while yes it is expensive you have to take into account, Panel beating, labor, cost of the tinters and, prepsole, and plastic thinners etc, it all adds up very quickly. Would definatly turn mega amounts of heads though :) I like your car though nice work.

Been boosted for almost a year now! No major probs with it yet *touch wood* but only running low boost, mainly for fun/sound. Hoping to put a new motor in and cooler some time over the next 6 months, can't wait!

Also gotta get round to posting pics of my new ride, AU Fairlane, V8. Lower and exhaust coming up for that then leaving it :)

Re: The Boosted Barbie Car

Postby Eb Barbie » February 26th, 2010, 7:59 am

Update: Had my 21st Birthday in December and managed to score a cooler  (thanks guys/gals - you know who you are) Got a few weird looks at my party from ppl wondering what it was and why a girl was so happy with a car part lol.

Anyway it was fitted by Kev just before AFD so I decided to take the EB along. Also the front springs were changed so now sits even at front and rear. Got the 'custom' (even more chopped) springs to go in rear but after having things/ppl in car for AFD not sure its good idea if I actually want to be able to drive it! Lol.

Still not sure what to do with cooler as it is asking for cop troubles and even though I got a daily, would like to be able to drive this and avoid canaries. I actually drive this more then the daily, more fun & looks :)
Might look at djr bar. Got quite a few plans to give car a make over (de-pinking-most of you will be happy to hear lol) so don't want to spend any more $$ on it atm, would rather put $$ towards make over.

That's all for now.

Yeah without any kind of tuning on the petrol side of things (timing etc), and without some kind of FPR it would prob run like ass on petrol.

On gas I'd imagine it would go OK, but not much better than stock unless it has the right gear. My old ED was the most basic of basic setups in every aspect, and it was on it's limit at 5PSI, but went very well and was very reliable at that boost level. Gill and I made sure.

Awsum colour! De-pinking it tho.

Sundeep wrote:Any power figures or anything for this? Sounds like it's all for noise and looks?

Got it in one. Only wanted it to dose, got no interest in power atm. Would be intersting to see what it has but don't think its much.

Runs alot better on gas now but still has line issues somewhere coz cuts out when back off from dose without keeping foot on. Has done this from start when it was turboed. Gas stuff will be coming off once I get new motor, current one will prob shit itself pretty soon, never done headgasket etc. Done pretty good I reckon!

if you are using an impco mixer for the gas the diaphram will seal shut when it doses.
no gas will get through.
if you had a blow off valve then it wouldnt cut out, but that defeats the whole purpose of going turbo in this case lol

Should be around the 160-170rwkw mark now - still pretty good I reckon :P

Springs are still Superlows, its just got Pedders short shocks in the front - makes a HUGE difference to the ride :)

I just think it needs steelies and EF Futura caps or some turboblades.

Thats is one insane looking barbie car, love the huge cooler.

How much boost are you running and what turbo is that.

You should do a au headgasket on it and see how long it can handle the setup.

I agree with the others interceptors would look sick especially with chrome rings and studs.

Cooler will be hidden behind a DJR bar when $$ roll in - around here it cant really be driven :P

EF/EL wreck will donate its engine to the cause, no point spendin huge $$ on it, its not gona be a power car - just amusing :)

Will also end up with stockies and EF Futura caps.
