they were out in force again last night too...doesnt look like a one off thing, apparently another 30odd cars got done at cambo, we were at westmeet and the cops were there before everyone arrived.
jazza, you do realise its not actually "drags" right? id love to see someone die from getting skittled by a car doing a standstill...my mates and i go almost every monday and wednesday and have never seen a race in the industrials or anyone get hit by a car...you'd have to be special to somehow get cleaned up by some kent doing loops in a court. I understand why they raid it etc, there is the possibility of some talented **** handbraking his nans nissan pulsar into a crowd or something like that but its not hard to keep out of the way....
sucks to hear about your car louis! how long they keeping it for?

i didnt know it wasnt drags, :? the name suggested it was and no-one said otherwise. circles in industrials states is a bit different. I was thinking dandy drags where everyone just races each other from the lights.

yeah thats what shits me about the media, they try and link a bit of industrial estate fun with that knob who stacked his ba xr6 doing whatever dumbass speed it was and killed everyone by calling it "drags". Everyone knows high speeds are dangerous so its a knee jerk reaction to be instantly against a "giant drag meet with hundreds of spectators". These journalists are tricky sly little kents that know how to get a reaction from their stories, im sure it wouldnt get half the reaction if they said "police conduct raid on spectators watching a car do a burnout in an industrial estate whilst moving at less than 20km/h" which is all that it ever is, 200 people standing around smoking and talking shit with their mates while the same 4-5 cars do skids one at a time.

At least the road toll will remain uneffected, if not higher now than last year!

Vicroads would be loving it to all these cars having to get RWC. $38.70 IIRC to book in for someone to inspect the car after RWC is down. Its as bad as the price they charge for rego these days!!

+1 rego for my EB is gunna be $625

When Cartz and I went the other week, the shit was organised, the couple of guys drifting had radios and some blokes stood on the street tellin people to stand back in shit. Not one race, and just 2 shit ****, some dick in a lancer with LEDS that lit up depending on engine revs, and a guy attempting to drift his Excel.

Its when the cops turn up shit goes back, kents running everywhere, every car fending for themselfs.

still... burnouts can go wrong.
correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt the $115,000 or watever they got be from unpaid fines? wat is wrong with that if that is the case? they would just put a boot on their car some other time and get the money back that way...

The day an anti-hoon law does save a life, trust me, we will know about it. There will be banners everywhere, articles in every news paper, segments on every TV show. They will finally have proof that the laws work. At the moment, they have nothing!

Good on the police, They are doing their job. I support them if you go to illegal skid events your an idiot and you deserve to get caught. At the end of the day its fucken dangerous.

In all honesty if i want to go do a skid, I do it away from people, cars, houses, If i **** up its only me getting hurt.

not tryin to offend people but thats a real shit attitude... wat if u got injured or killed? u may of known that was coming but wat about ur family and people that know u? do they accept the dangers? pretty sure they will end up being innocent victims who will end up blaming some one. will end up being the cops who take it all for not doing anything about it...
i dont think its about money, they have to do something about the problem (and yes, it is a problem) if they make an example of them all then its good. go to calder or something if u want to drag...

You make a very good point, and people stop bitching about distance to the track too, Its cheaper to drive a distance then to pay to enter then it is to pay for fines, damages. It's also safer but almost every **** wit P plater thinks they are invincible in their VN V6.

So other than calder where is there that we can realisticaly go to have a bit of fun and socailize, you can only get so much out of a web site you know, like lets think about this shall we .1) How many places have been provided by the vic goverment for us so called Hoons To "Safely do what we do(donuts, drifting, curcitracing, drags etc).....Let us think ....FUCKALL if in some cases any. 2)the absolute bullshit laws that they (the govarment) introduse to choke and kill the modofied car scene cant do this cant do that........ so as far as the cops are concerned the modded car scene is just revenue........plain and simple you mod youre car you become a target for police tofine and harrase you cos we want to stand out in the croud of dunnydroors and battery operated half cars......

I'm a member of this forum because i'm studying behavioral science in the retard genome. I am researching the validity of a theorem that suggests retards and or "retardtic" behaviour isn't limited to Holdens, VNs and people who wear flat brims.

There is Sandown, Phillip Island and Winton which all run track days and sprints that are open to anyone who gets a L2S CAMS licence which is cheap.

Also alot more fun than the streets

Your right Gozza, it has actually been more that dickheads drive whatever they can get their hands on, VN's were the typical car as you could pick them up for fukk all. Now, it is more E-Series/AU's/VR-VX Commo's and camry's that have an excessive number of dickhead drivers! This is all because said cars are cheap, so they can afford them!

but still when you look at considering the amount of people with modded cars in victoria its not alot and then we throw in the mix the amount of money spent each year on making life harder for "hoons" as well as the revanue collected each year from us "hoons" from fines then you would think that there's more than enough money to open and maintaine than just a handfull for the whole state. I think its kevins way of trying to kill off the the car scene much like thay did with the GTHO in the seventys. though on the flip side alot more needs to be spent on educating youn/learner drivers..costly but maybe somthing in the way of having to complete a advanced defencive driving course + recomened hour's before a learner can obtain a licance.. it would a better way of going about it rather than restricting the power that you can drive on youre P's. cos what do most of these kids do as soon as they get off there P's, get More power...

Well considering that L platers can drive any car they want as long as they have a legal drive with them it seems a bit weird then to restrict them when they are on there p's
I agree driving courses are a great idea you learn alot .
In america they run a driving program with in the school maybe something like that needs to be done here

Fkn stop ya bitching. Im a P plater and if i get caught doing something hoonish then i deserve it. Doing the 9-5 i dont drive like a dickhead so i dont get pulled over/even looked at by cops and yes my car is how Dezza says "mildly modified" and does stand out.

i think it needs to go back to the old school times when you get done for somthing shifty get a beating then escorted back home to let your perents know(well thats how it was in NZ anyway, And it fuggen worked)
