xg xr6 ute vs xh gli ute?

Postby nstg8a » April 11th, 2010, 2:16 pm

im looking at getting another daily, narrowed it down to either a xg xr6 ute or a xh gli, both are similar price ($500 difference before haggling) both have similar kms. xh seems a little tidier, more grandpa spec if you will...

am i right in thinking the 4.0l in the xh will have more power than the xg 4.0l? xh has a much much nicer interior, but im a little concerned about parts availability if i smack one of the hybrid guards or bonnet. but then if i smack the front of the xg then its almost a guaranteed write-off given the cost of genuine ford twinlights...

im thinking long term the xg may have slightly better resale? being an xr6... but then the xh's are already quite hard to get in good un thrashed nick...

any ideas? comments etc?

XH's have the same motors as XG's only the XH xr6's have the newer motors in them.
XH's have problems with door latches and earlier x series door latches don't fit.

XH has serpentine though, although it does have the older-style log manifold rather than BBM (which the XH XR6 has). IMO it's much and muchness between the pair
