The Original MINT-8: EL Ghia V8

Postby MINT-8 » April 12th, 2010, 10:27 pm

Hey guys,

I've been a member on here for many years now, and it has always been the case of CBF'ing putting my car up in this Showroom section... till now!

The ride is a 1998 EL Fairmont Ghia V8 with factory Tickford kit, and 3 Way Sunroof in Sparkling Burgandy.

Mods: 18" Quake Rims wrapped in Dunlop SP3000a tyres
Lovell sagged Ultra Low springs front and rear
Koni Adjustable Shocks in the rear
DBA Drilled/Slotted Rotters Front/Rear
EL GT Headers
2.5" Cat back exhaust
SS Intake
FBT Steering Wheel
New Cappa Leather
7" Sony DVD/TV Screen
2 Kicker 1500W Subs
Pioneer 260W 5 way speakers all round

Plans: 347 Stroker Conversion, T5 Manual Conversion, 3" Stainless Exhaust, EL GT Twin Piston Brake Upgrade, 19" BF GT-P rims, FBT Trim, Full Respray in
factory Sparkling Burgandy.

Eventually, i gave up the dream and decided too get a BF Super Pursuit.

BUT....

Somewhere along the way ended up with a brand new VE SS 6 speed Ute instead... :P

Heres some pics, hope you enjoy! :-P

sweet as, love the EL mate.

what made you go the VE over the Super pursuit? I always thought the FPV's had nicer interiors. dont know how the power compares though...

MINT car mate, mines exactly the same but as bordeox purple and with 19s. What do you mean by a 3 way sunroof?, mine only pops up and rolls back?

There were a couple of reasons why I got the SS over the FPV... The SS was brand new for 36k compared too a Super Pursuit with 80,000 kms for the same price, was cheaper on insurence, and wasn't really keen on the leaf spring rear suspension...

36K is so cheap!!. I was looking at a car yard 2 nights ago same ute but in that new green and they had $41k + onroads.

Not interested in getting one, just curious on the prices of them.

I remember how much effort went into collecting this car.

Driving all that way up and back, with a popped head gasket, in just over a day. Overheating... Speeding... And you still couldn't keep up with me. :D
