EL GT $70,000!!!

Postby KR1STO » May 23rd, 2010, 12:07 pm

Hey guys, dunno if this is where to post this to have a chat about it but,
while hunting around car yards for a new car for the missus we stumbed across this...
Spoke to the owner of the car yard in Dandy.. IIRC it's called Automobiles..?
When i asked him how much he wanted for it he said...
"It's only done 5000kms mate.." "Won't part with it for less than $70,000"
That's how much they were worth new!!
Anyway, it was an excellent example though.. looked like it was straight out of the factory..
but then it'd wanna be with only 5000kms on it..
well, here's a pic..

cheers

Iv seen it down there, the owner of it is a friend of the dealership's owner. Still has the original tyres on it.

Pretty overpriced though, seeing theres one on Ebay with only 2,000km for $30k.

Yeah I see one on the way to uni everyday, so thought i'd call up to see what they were worth, he had a auto one with a sunroof with something like 120,000kms for $35k and a manual with 19,000kms for $55k. I'd go a FG F6 for that type of money :P

It doesn't go fast. It doesn't look good. It's not that different from other high-spec models of the time. So, what's the appeal besides them being built in limited numbers and a badge that it's not worthy of?

I'd prefer a fully-optioned EL XR8 that I could wring the neck out of.

The spot lights in the bar f**k it. Apart from that it doesn't look that bad.

The other difference is that these will be worth a pretty prenny one day.

They might be cheap now, but they'll sky rocket in years too come! Unlike today's FPVs,
which are just ANOTHER car... ;-)

I love it, it's over the top and outrageos, that's what makes it different. im a fan of the big wings and kit. Put a kenne bell on it and super duper lows it would be sex on wheels.
