I'd put money on it not have happening if I was in the green car, the amount of bodyroll I got with this car when I turned and hit the brakes was borderline ridiculous. That and the green car has a lot more traction/better brakes/suspension etc.

grego - yeh, you can look at it that way, I dunno whether to think like that or go the other way about it, getting myself into that situation.

What the faaaaaaaaaaaaaark... that is epic! Take it easy for a day or two, get a checkup out to make sure you haven't done anything to your neck or back. The sudden stop can't have been good for you.

Can you make up a paint diagram or something to show the path the car took? Kind of curious how it ended up like that (wouldn't have asked if you were seriously injured or anything!).

Not sure if I should open this can of worms, but do you reckon a more modern car with ESP/DSC would've avoided the accident? I drove a Fiesta Zetec today for a bit of fun, my god, could not throw the thing away if I tried. Pushed to the limits it just kept bringing itself back under control in a smooth, non-intrusive manner.

Yeh I'll knock one up in a sec.
If the car didnt handle like a boat I'm pretty confident it wouldnt have ended up this way, we all know what stock suspensions like! If it were the green car I think I would have avoided it, and if it were a new car with driver aids I think I would have had a much better chance for sure.
If my elbow doesnt come good I'll go back to the docs, was meant to get an X ray done on it today but there was more urgent cases at the hospital so I just came back home.

Yeh I lost my phone in the crash, dad found it a few metres away in the bushes but there was not a hope in hell of me finding it after the crash. Only thing to do was walk home lol, theres no other houses on the highway I could have stopped in at.

Timmy, yeh that tree would have fkd me up for sure, it destroyed the back quarter of the car with ease.

Was heading out of South Grafton towards Coffs, its about 3 or so kms from town.
I know it would have been hard for people to see the state I was in but still they would have been able to see my arm covered in blood when I was trying to hitch a lift.

ESP is amazing, I took my mums 09 focus zetec on the last GOR Cruise, keept up with Adrian in his force 6 through the twistys you could feel the ESP working. Turn it off and it all turned to shit.
I think in this case if the car had ESP he would have straighten up easy and kept driving
