have had a booze/drug/epa/roadworthy bus in geelong the last couple of weekends.
i drive straight past them on the otherside of the road.
and go 1 street over on the way home. they can hear me the street over no doubt but never come looking.

should see their heads snap around when i am on the otherside of the road tho :D

Last week I went over the James Harrison bridge and past one and there was one on the little bridge underneth. Im seeing them everywhere, plus a shit load of TOG cars. They never pull me over though. I havnt had any trouble with the cops since ive had a Ford, only when i drove my commodore.
Currently off the road getting a new motor put together, complete with bigger cam, portted head, over sized valves, manual convertion with lightened fly and aftermarket computer. Should have a bit of poke.

so you dont have to have it done in the short term? that gives you plenty of time to find a stock exhaust for the test. I read that as part of operation pipedown they were giving certain police those noise testers so that they could get you on the spot. I know its bad for us, but what the hell took them so long to think of that anyway?

Yeah he asked the other guy if he has an epa thingy on him but luckily they didn't.. It's only got a 2 1/2 in exhaust, not very loud and it passed a roady so i doubt it'll be to loud. If it is god people with extractors and a cam will be rooted. My EL was twice as loud and they never questioned it.

Shit bags.
So a stock manifold and cat with a 2 1/2" exhaust with 1 muffler on an EB is basically to loud?

I was following a police car at about 1.30 am this morning and they pulled into a slip lane then I stopped at a red then they pulled straight out the slip lane again. I thought it was a deliberate switch so they could get behind me. Was a hill start too so I had to give it some revs.

Car is louder than I would like at the moment, but off I went and they just tuned the corner. Would have been pissed if after my 7 hour night shift I got slapped with a fine, defect and have to swap my exhaust back to stock

Haha yeah they do it to intimidate you.
I think i'm going to try throwing another muffler on it to get it under so i don't have to worry about changing all the time.
I can see if i change back to the current exhaust after i get it cleared they'll just epa me again.

yeh I think I should upgrade the main muffler from a semi-straight through to a tri-flow to provide more noise attenuation. Just dont have the cash with rego + insurance + uni books costing over $1500 all at once :-O

i thought stock was 2.25 "?

But I guess 2" would keep the noise down even more and reduce emissions due to restricted flow.
