Wheels sizes

Hey guys and girls, just wondering if anyone knew how much bigger over factory size, rims you are allowed to get. On P plates especially, according to vic roads rules.

XR Lightning is right, cant go bigger than the rolling diameter of the largest allowed on the placard. Some cops go for the old rule, some for the new one

Postby DEVLXR » July 21st, 2010, 9:04 pm

Yeah it's all about rolling diameter now. Which makes 20's still legal, as long as the tyre load is correct to the car and the rolling diameter isn't more or less than 15mm than from factory. I've spoken to many tyre and wheel places about it and seen it in print, so if a cop tries to get you on big wheels stand up for yourself.
My mate got his EF defected for too big of wheels and headlights TOO yellow lol. Went to vicroads without touching the car, vicroads said the copper is a dickhead basically, wheels and headlights were both fine.

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalcul ... ion=submit

so according to this 20s are illegal on a eb ghia

as a 20" rim with a 35 tyre is only 18mm approx bigger then a 15" with a 65 tyre

Your starting to shit me off. I proved you wrong in one thread not too long ago - all you have to do is run the right fkn profile FFS !

235/30/20 = 648.97 mm
205/65/15 = 647.44 mm

1.5mm!!!!!!!!!! OMGGGGG!!!! :banghead:

i never denied the profile,

you claimed that there is no difference in larger wheels to your vehicles ride height, i said there was

i never mentioned what profile sidewall to use i just there was a difference in my wheels

So you just proved nothing relevant. Wrong profile = difference in size = difference in car height.

Basically? FFS. Its like saying you can run 18s with 4wd spec tyres, of course its going to change the size :banghead:
I told you previously you can run 20s fine on E series and you argued, get over it, you were wrong.
