FTG's latest creation fs 20k'ish

Postby nstg8a » December 13th, 2010, 9:20 pm

i generally hate these fairlanes, but damn, i like this one... (stolen from aff)

Just a little project we have been working on between work & rebuilding our off road race car.

BA Fairlane G220 - G290

arrived here as a tidy G220 with a damaged LH 1/4 panel.
then over a few beers decided we would give it some FTG-FPV treatment.

It is now close to finished

so far it has received:

Boss 290 motor
BA GT Auto Trans
BA GT Diff
BA GT FPV Brakes
BA GT-P Wheels
BA GT Exhaust
Koni Suspension
FPV front & rear badges , the rest debadged
Chrome mirror scalps
GT-P Steering Wheel
Boss Bonnet
FPV Pedal Pads

Next will be a few interior dress ups , drive and enjoy it for a bit and then its on the market for sale.

Shame it's for sale like right now. Few months time and I'd be seriously on it like a fat kid on a smartie
20k is not a bad price considering the kit in it. Kenne bell on it and it'd be insane lol.

Would it need to be engineered seeing as though a 4v wasn't a factory option?

Those engines are massive.

Might need to be engineered but dont see why it wouldnt pass...
nothing aftermarket on it....

factory ecu, factory exhaust(if they fitted that back to it), no cutting or anything required, and that bonnet has passed adrs and crash testing etc on the xr8 anyway

Wouldnt have to be engineered as its still 5.4L and also from a BA? Just like putting a DOHC into E-Series.

ahh yeah i know its a ba... thats why i said "styling of these and the au 'lanes"...

i wouldnt mind seeing it with a more aggressive bodykit, and some nice 19s or 20s. would look stonking then.

" well that was the quickest engineers report ever!!
took the car into them this morning & picked up this afternoon done.
It didn't need anything done to it. He just checked the work, said it was to a high standard and then wrote the report out.

Back to vic roads for rego in the morning"
