Ford Australia's modern day 'Mad Max'

Sorry if this is a repost, but:

Local car maker Ford Australia has designed a pair of new concept cars that pay homage to the original matt-black Interceptor pursuit car (pictured bottom) that was based on an XB Falcon Coupe and featured prominently in the cult dystopian Australian film trilogy.

Top Gear Australia magazine asked Ford to produce the concepts to celebrate the revival of the Mad Max film series.

The two cars were chosen by Top Gear from several Ford sketches, and appear in the latest issue. A full-scale version of one of the cars expected to be built later this year though isn't expected to feature in the belated fourth instalment of the franchise.

same here.... both are getting absolutly hammered on a few forums at the moment, but i reckon its awesome that ford still knows how to design out of the box stuff like this. even if it will probably never really be built.

I think people are taking the concept a little too seriously.

i see it more of.. if mad max was never made, and they came up with the concept *now* then thats the kind of thing they'd design.

theres no sense in linking it with the previous movies.

Tailgating and right lane hogs wouldn't exist anymore
It shows that designers aren't completely out of touch

I think there missing the most important bit.......... THE BIG BLOWER! I mean nothing say FRUCK OFF more than that old school blower churning out the PSI. It was a focal point of the movie after all.
