my cars a wreck

Postby tezza bear » January 31st, 2008, 8:52 pm

My wife was driving to bring me lunch at work when she was involved in a 5 car pile up at the traffic lights on South Gippsland Highway just down from Freeway Ford. She suffered minor injurries but the car is a riteoff. It took them about an hour to seperate the van from my ford.

dammmm i was hoping a bit of bog & spray putty would have fixed it :D the woman who was behind the truck said he didn't brake till late & its a 80km area & he was loaded with at least a couple of ton of gravel & pushed our car forward about 4 car lengths.

main thing is everyone is allright the road where it is, is shit as, always nice slippy when it rains a bit

dont forget when the assessor tells you what your car is worth you can always haggle to get more from him get some adds from carpoint, trading post etc with cars in similar conditions to back up your case and give it to him straight that it was his client( the insured and their insurance company) at fault and all you want to do is replace the car with one in similar condition and its going to cost xxxx and show him the adds

also because it is your car look into buying the wreck back or at least ask what the salvage price on the car is, to get all your stuff out of it stereo etc im sure a few people around would be interested in either buying it off you, or strip it for parts

Oh ouch :( It's a 5.0 as well isn't it? Sucks that another e-series has bitten the dust, esp on in such apparent good nick, and a 'rarer' 5 litre.

I'd imagine your missus will wake up with a bit of a head/neck ache tomorrow too, judging by the size of that hit - looks like it even buggered up the front of the truck a bit, and there ain't no crumple zones on them! Great to hear she is ok, looks like the Falcon took the hit like a champ - do the doors still open and close OK or are they totally cactus?

(Dare I say it) Pity about the Grange too - that particular model in that colour is one of my least-disliked Holdens :( Looks like it's been lowered a little too, though it could just be crash damage.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Yes mrs Tezza woke up stiff & as sore as this morning. A lady that was behind the truck said he was doing at least 60km & she didn't see him brake & was loaded with gravel. took 2 men to get the passenger door open the other doors i think are wedged shut the guy in the van was taken to hostpital. Was talking to the guy in the grange he only just had it lowed & a few other mods done to it.

ok there was 4 cars parked at the traffic lights the truck hit our ford, pushed my wife into the van, the van was pushed the into the grange & the grange was pushed into some black car. The black car was gone by the time i got there so don't know what it was or how bad it was damaged. Our car was pushed about 3 car lengths forward & was stuck to the van took about 1 hour to seperate them.

I pray that never happens to anyone I know. It's scary to think that could happen to any of us, anytime, anywhere. Good to see everyone was able to walk away from it though.

E-series are tuff as fcuk! To transfer enough force through a van into a grange then into another car (esp while everyone has the brakes on) to do that much damage down the line, without the cabin folding up like a deck chair is impressive.

Well still no payout yet but our assessor & solisitor put in a claim for $8000 for the car & $2000 for peronal items, stereo & stuff so hope they come to the party. But in the mean time we needed a car so we purchased a 92 EB XR6 its gonna be me work & toy car & when we get the payout we're looking at getting an EF/EL XR8, Fairmont Ghia 5L or NF/NL Fairlane 5L hopefully :D . Well more about the XR6. Its a 5 speed manual, BA GTP wheels, lowered, tinted windows, electric windows, mirrors & 2 way sun roof, pacemaker extractors into 3" exaust with 5" dump tip sounds tuff as, mild head work, K/N filter, velour trim, spoiler kit, sony head unit alpine 10" sub & amp, keyless entry, alarm, immobilizer & seperate hidden kill switch. 243000 kays on the clock & pearl black paint job paid $6000 thought it was a bit dear but we thought it was worth it. hears some pics....
