got motivated today and thought i'd clean the SVO. hasn't been done for 6 months. it sat outside at my old house. But has a garage now. So i was rinsing it off first up and the water wasn't draining out of the cowl. so i pulled the cover off and unbolted the wiper motor and got my hand in the drainage duct and was pulling out clumps of leaves etc out of it. but couldn't get any further. so i had to pull the guards off to get to the other side. i never realised how easy the front of a EA is to get off.

bar and headlights out

guard off

inner guard and insulation off

the channel all clean and free of leaves etc

Looking good brenton. That insulation can cause rust in the front quater cause it traps water and shit lol

Easier way to get the leaves out is a big air blower on a compressor.

My EA had close to a bin load in there lol.

It's relevant, has info others may look for in the future, and you're the one that brought the stuff about the SIDO numbers up anyways. Thread's just 3 pages of boring shit now. It's not registered, and the last big update is about cleaning leaves out of the cowl.

I would be good to know the exact truth...

As far as i know FoA evaluated both Mick and Brockies products in an effort to create a in house perfomance arm, but Tickford won out (Ford acuired Tickford when they bought Aston Martin in 1994) i can only assume because of there efforts with the RS200, RS500 and Tickford Capri.

Mick registed the SVO name in australia as Ford used the SVO name for its Hi-Po models. Dick Johnston also used the SVO name during this period on his XF turbo falcons, but he was ordered to stop as Mick owned it.

Getting closer to a roady. replaced high beam globes. picking up the rebuilt rear calipers tomorrow. removed the Watts link to replace the bushes tomorrow. Had spare upper and lower trailing arms that come off the EB at some point. so i had the lower polyurethane bushes at work. replaced them tonight. i'll get the upper bushes and replace them tomorrow. and i'll swap the arms over tomorrow

i also cleaned these up and bolted them in. i reckon they look sexy

i had a productive morning. picked up my rebuilt calipers. got upper trailing arm bushes and rear pads from Bursons. went into work and swapped tyres onto rims for my Valiant. replaced Watts link bushes and upper trailing arm bushes. then stopped passed Autobarn and got black paint for the arms and sand paper and extremely high temp paint for the extractors. it's getting there
