Falcon Facts

Postby EFFalcon » October 28th, 2009, 10:11 am

For many years Falcon Facts (www.geocities.com/falconfacts) has been a great resource for all things in Aussie Fords.
Unfortunately since 2003 the site stopped being updated.
The site was a credit to its owner (who i don't know the name of)

News came earlier this year that the webhost Geocities (Yahoo Geocities) was closing down, and along with it, any websites on there.

Worried such a fantastic website would be lost for good i took it apon myself to take as much of a backup of the website as possible.

Unfortunately any attempts at contact with the current owner/builder of the site were bounce backs.

But.. as of Today, falconfacts is not longer available at its original home.

For those interested, I have uploaded the website to www.falconfacts.net

If the owner of the site manages to find this it'd be appreciated if they would contact me.
Otherwise, the website shall live on.

Alternatively, if anyone knows who built the site, please let me know so i can credit them.

That's a great effort John, has this been posted on aff, fm, sf, faf, etc? Might reach the original owner through there if you haven't done so already.

I'm guessing you don't want certain AFF/ex E-Series members claiming it as their own :P

i doubt they would... but i guess theres nothing stopping anyone saying its theirs.

it just seems they went to so much trouble to get it setup and only maintained it for like 6months.

Well the main thing is they put it up in the first place, and now you've mirrored/saved it for future use. A+++ will view again!

It'd be good though seeing as you have control now to fix up some of the numbers?

Its not much of a big deal but for example-
In the service booklet/manaul for EBII, it says engine power is 145kw/341nm whereas the site claims 148kw/348nm..

I know its not much and TBH I assume the service book is correct but it may not be...but its an interesting discrepancy and I seem to remember finding more throughout the pages long ago..

But great work on getting it back up and running!

Site doesn't work anymore :(, was an awesome site, did anyone have any of the information saved? Maybe we could open up a thread with it?

Speed determines how fast you hit the Traffic Light....Power determines how far you take it with you.

ABS = spongy brakes, but you'll slow to about 60

non-ABS = lock up at 100 & skid past the roo doing about 95. But you'll look sick doing it
