Thanks mate, good to hear some positive feedback on my brothers shaker. Not everyone's cup of tea but he did it properly and put a fair bit of time and effort into it.

Did this last year in Year 10 Metal work, A GT Spatula. Took me a good month or two to do it, Snapped the handle once and had to redo it. Took forever to drill the holes in the flipper and then needle file out the GT Symbol, But in the end it came up pretty good bar a few scratches.

Thats hilarious. I made one of those in year 10 metal work too - about 15 years ago! Not a GT one tho.

Guy in y9 woodwork class made a bong. Only prob was he burned his name into it. When the cops sprung them smoking some bowls at the local park they did a runner and left the bong with his name on it. Good times.

I've been (unnoticeably) absent from the forums for the past few months due to work commitments (ps PNG sucks the big one) and had a heap of time off in lieu so decided to tour Germany and France for a month.

I have about 3000 photos of all the places but I'll stick to just the motoring stuff for this thread. I also haven't got an artistic bone in my body so the photography isn't that great, but the locations are.

Germany, Nurburgring:

Image
Image

And before anyone asks, yes, I drove it. Hired a Renault Clio Cup through RSRNurburg which believe me for the first time on that track (despite 11ty laps on GT5) is quick enough to poo yourself.

On my second lap I came through Fuchsröhre almost at the top of 5th (est. 180km/h), hit a bump on the inside of the left kink just before the run up the hill (those familiar with GT5 will know where I mean), tail unweighted, big flat slide at WOT up onto the right hand ripple strip. If the ripple strip wasn't cambered I would have been on the grass into the right hand armco, then head on into the fence at the end of the hill. I coasted for a bit to regain my composure after that :?. Only wish I had in car footage - with my lack of talent would have been the best bit of car control I'll ever display.

Unfortunately that was my 2nd and last lap because there was a huge shunt and the track was closed. Perhaps they went off on whatever bodily fluid I previously left on the track.

Some of RSRNurburg's cars for hire sitting out in the lot in no particular order - Ferrari Italia, McLaren MP4-C12, Porsche GT3, Porsche GT2 RS, Porsche Carerra, Nissan GTR, BMW E46 M3, Lotus Elise, Lotus Exige, Renault Sport Meganne RS, Renault Sport Clio Cup (including a stripped out pure track car, full cage, 5pt harness, coil overs, massive brakes, semi slicks). Also some open seater Radical which I didn't recognise.

Germany, Black Forrest Road:
Think of an alpine GOR except no traffic, no police, no speed cameras.
Image

Also visited numerous motoring museums etc. but way too many pics for here.

France, Le Mans Museum:

Sorry crap photo, but they had about 30 1980s onwards Le Mans race cars crammed in there.
Image

Personal favourite cars, GT40 of cause, Aston DB9R, McClaren F1.
Image
Image
Image

Monaco, Monte Carlo:
Image
Image

You hop off the train, literally walk 20m out the exit of the station and you're standing on the turn 1 exit ripple strip. I walked the entire track and you don't get a true perspective of how tight it is until you've been there. With normal road traffic two compact cars are nearly losing mirrors to get by one another in a lot of places.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. You came up in conversation at work the other day, apparently you took a couple of pics of a fg gt315 at the xr clubs run at toowoomba? The owner is a truck driver that comes through work every now and then, I put him onto the xr club ages ago.
Can never remember his name.
