Old member, new non Falcon owner

Hey,

Sorry if this doesn't belong here but I'm now the proud owner of an MY99 GC8 WRX and I just have to show it off.
Details are: 2.0L 4cyl 16v DOHC Turbo. 5sp manual, AWD - stock standard thing of beauty.
The paint is immaculate, it's the 74F Prodrive, 22B Rally blue colour with sunroof and 195,xxxkm on the ODO.

I'm only posting this here because I've been stalking these forums ever since I was unbanned by EFFalcon and thought some of you may be interested in something other than a Ford. I still hope to one day have a turbo'd E-Series drift pig to throw around a track on weekends but that won't be for a while.

Hasn't had any mods yet. The only mods going on the car will either be genuine Subaru (STi) parts from higher spec models and perhaps a very mild exhaust, air filter parts, bulbs etc. I'm on the hunt for the JDM style tail lights (with the red and white lenses, no amber) as well as body coloured side mirrors, side skirts and rear valances. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

Chris

Cooler, zorst, boost, tune, coilovers and good tyres. Makes for amazing fun on a reasonable budget!

I was also recently informed that you should make sure all 4 tyres are the same...a friend of a workmate put 2 tyres on the front and different tyres on the rear about a month later and cooked and killed the centre diff...don't know if that was a newer one that what you have or not

I don't mind rexxies but could never own one since they sound like someone has taken a few spark plug leads off a real motor.

That and the owners are usually smug **** who love to bore people with how fast they are around corners and other hypothetical situations

Ignoring the "real motor" bit... This guy i used to knock around with back in my p-plater days had an excel (used to do j-turns or skid arouń with maccas trays). One night it dropped a cylinder, & he didn't replace the plug for a week because "it sounded sik lyk a rex". A 3cyl excel with a fuely-smokey exhaust is indeed sick.

Ah, great. Thanks guys. I'm over the moon with this car. It's hard not to sound like a smug A-hole when all you can do is agree with people when they tell you what a clean, good looking example you have
I'd love to put together a build thread on here but not sure if bad idea. I've registered on a few WRX forums but none of them compare to the community that exists on Boosted, hence why I'm here. A few of them also require paid membership to get full access to the technical sections as well as being completely bloated with advertising so they're really very 'meh'
