Boosted Falcon

Hi all,
After many years of owning an the NL Lane and my daily EB and spending a bucket load modifying them - it was time to upgrade.

Picked up the rear tub racks and board holders before I got the car I was that excited

Heres my 2012 Ford Wildtrak.

So far loving it and all its extra little features.

What I love:
- Reverse Camera, wow without it would make it very hard to park such a long vehicle
- Big Mirrors
- Highbeams are pretty good at night on the country roads
- Great torque through the gears
- Space in the rear cab is excellent for a crew cab
- Sound system is half decent
- MyFord voice control is pretty accurate

What I don't like:
- Rattling / pinging I assume when its cold, going into ford tuesday to check it out
-Auto seems to hold gear when going down hills
- SatNav has a mind of its own at times, stupid long routes that are meant to be 'fast'
- Paint seems to scratch easy
-All these features, why not keyless entry and pushbutton start? (would have been a nice to have)
- When the headlights are on and on 'auto', when turning off the car, the 'your lights are on' noise comes on for a split second.

- Rear drum brakes? - is there a reason for this?

Over all great car, drives and rides excellent, great for long distance (unlike other crew cabs out there), and has that tough Ranger look.

Top utes.

All of ours rattle when cold too, I wouldn't worry about it.

Great colour too, drums on commercials are still common.

They do rattle... BUT, Mazda have an ECU update for the BT-50 to stop the rattle, however Ford don't... Go figure.

Good stuff mate. Went all out getting a wild track too. They are ment to be really good.

My old man just bought a bt 50 dual cab, was near 10g cheaper then the Ford. I can relate to the GPS. I couldn't get ours to work very well. A simple trip up the coast and it was trying to send us through murwullumbar.
Also, if you're just on trailing throttle , the auto seems to not know what to do. Sort of hear the revs go up and down for a seocond.

youll be glad you got the auto. all we seem to do on them under warranty is manual rebuilds.

My gearbox is pretty noisey but I've never worried about it. What happens to them?

Im not 100% sure . we've had some that have just needed 1 bearing and others that have needed complete shafts and shit. but we always have issues with the manuals. But we see the worst of the worst.. alot of.mining and.company cars.. They also blow cv's often. but thats mostly because of people lifting them. i
