Nah from what I read you only need a cage if you want to take a passenger.

* Front and rear Hazard lights and brake lights must be operational.
* ALL wheel nuts must be fitted and tight. Regardless if the car was 4 stud from factory, if it has 5 stud hubs, all studs and nuts must be there.
* No visible oil under vehicle at all. If you have spilled oil doing an oil change etc clean it up, don't leave drips under the car or you will be knocked back for an oil leak.
Fire Extinguishers
- must meet ADR's
- must be securely mounted with screws, be in a low safe position and within reach of the drivers seat while seated. NOT cable tied to roll cage etc,
Helmets
- must be presented on the passenger seat visible to scrutineers
- must conform with Australian Standard: AS1698, USA standard: Snell SA95, M90, SA95, SA2000
* No loose items in cabin.
* Firmly mounted drivers seat with all anchor bolts fitted. Passenger seat (if fitted) must also be secure and anchored with all bolts if roll cage is fitted.
* Firmly mounted Harness or seat belt system for driver. Passenger side also if roll cage is fitted. No tears, fraying or damage to belt webbing.
* Battery must be firmly clamped in place, and if a wet style battery is fitted within the passenger compartment, it must be in a box.
* Fluid reservoirs in engine bay securely mounted, and any reservoirs on exhaust side MUST have an absorbent cover. E.G Sock, Glove etc.
* Any fuel system components MUST be sealed from passenger compartment. A cardboard box is not an acceptable cover!
Exhaust systems:
- must finish outside the perimeter of the vehicles bodywork. No exhausts to finish halfway underneath the vehicle.
- must not exceed more than 100mm past the perimeter of the rear of the vehicle.
- exhaust outlet must not be dumping gas in a steep upwards direction
- All forms of wastegates on turbocharged vehicles are ALLOWED.
- All cars running an external wastegate on their turbo setup need to pay due care and that the exhaust from the external gate is not lower than the exhaust system.
- All cars must ensure their exhaust exits past the perimeter of the car. "dropped pipes" are NOT ALLOWED
* Cars must have all exterior body panels on and bolted on securely. (exception made for front/rear bumper bars)
*All cars must run an effective spark arrester -All cars must run a minimum of one spark arrester in their exhaust system in the form of a muffler/resonator or catalytic converter. This is a SAFETY issue to avoid any fires when cars come off the track.
* oil catch cans must not be an open tin of baked beans or similiar. It must be a sealed container able to support hot oil safely.
