they are PDW optic-z wheels... i'm pretty annoyed insurance has said it's covered but i have to pay my excess and i don't get it back unless they can recuperate the money from the responsible party... which in this case is Transport SA so goodluck getting money from those pricks. also my excess would be about the same cost or more than a new set of rims, so i would achieve nothing, so hopefully i hear back from the wheel repair place tomorrow and it's good news otherwise i will be in the market for some new rims

Why don't you hit up Transport SA yourself. Take pics of the offending pothole and of your rim and hit them up for the cost of a new one., then sell the set of 3 if you can't get another (ring a few wheel shops and see if any can help you though).

exactly what daniel said is what i did, however they reckon i have almost no chance of getting anything from them due to weather lately and shit. tyre pressures were all good up around 36 - 38. got some good news today though anyway, the rim has been repaired

should get it back tomorrow sometime and it should be back on the car saturday morning

so to continue this cars recent episodes of fail... driving back to a mates place last night, pull into his street accelerate in first go to end of street turn around and park.. coolant light comes on i'm sitting there thinking ahh whatever it's just a little low again... open my door look at the road the whole way down the road there is a stream of coolant leading down the street doing a u turn then coming back to the spot im parked and also a pool rapidly flowing out from behind my wheel, steam pouring out of my bonnet above my left headlight.

engine off bonnet up couldn't see shit but gathered it was way too bad to drive anywhere, so locked it and left it parked near my mates place.. went back to it this morning to discover a heater hose had shat its self and spewed coolant everywhere, a couple of trips to autopro later and she was running again (thank fark). so after 3 hours sleep some early morning roadside car repairs i went to bob jane to get my wheel sorted and now this is how it is sitting... again

as of now everything is fixed, broken wheel is repaired and back on, heater hose replaced.. now just hoping it runs without a problem for an extended period of time :drinks2:

Good to see its all back and running again though, bad luck with cars doesnt last forever......

As said definitely time to do all your hoses and heater tap, I had the one running to the tap let go, so I replaced that and then bought a pack a week later and did the rest - they were in fairly ordinary shape! For the cost of a hose pack ($150 for Gates) its not too bad on the wallet either.

yeah i'm gonna do the other hoses in a couple of weeks, will take the car to my mates workshop and do it all. for now i am just glad i can drive the damn thing
