Also just a quick question, I want to get a K&N Filter, but should I get a pod? Is it legal? Roadworthy? Can cops defect me for it?
Or should I get the panel filter? Does it still sound good? Better performance than the pod?

The panel filter would be the best way to go, cheaper doesn't look stupid like a pod either and cops won't hassle you over a panel filter

def go a k &n panel filter, i have one in my bf 2 xr6. and u never have to change it either, just clean it.

id say 6k maybe more maybe less, depends on condition/kms of the car rwc/rego etc

thats fairly low ks, id also say round 6k, at a rough estimate also.

Great first car, like the plans, but protip: try and avoid doing the first car mods, I.e. Pod filter, nightshade, painting things with export paint, you seem to have a fair idea of what your doing and it's pretty good anyway

Where can i buy a red dashboard for an 1999 xr6 au? just wondering where and how much it will cost me for an xr6 red dashbaord or cover for my 1999 xr6 au. plz send me links and stuff regarding it thanks and also below is a link to my car look through the pics and the panel where all the electronics are in the middle the big circular thing is there somehow i could spray paint that or something because i am going for a red theme in my car.

Welcome to the club mate, making a great start to your mods. I still remember when I first bought my ED and I did some really tacky mods just for the sake of doing 'a mod'. (God what was I thinking :blackeye:

). Only thing I would do exterior wise if it was my car, like everyone is suggesting and that's the AU3XR Clear Side Indicators, and a set of these:

Instead of a K&N filter, go a Lukey...cheaper and they don't need oiling...

I actually went with the DRIFT ones, did my homework and they turned out the best, they're also not oiled, and dry
