Thanks misk! Its soo clean, crazy stuff haha.

Hopefully people will buy my stuff so I can use the $ for a short shifter :D

Put half a tank of premium 100 in this, wow I never thought a stock 6 would go so well! Rips 1st and 2nd gear, traction is an issue in the wet.

If anyone needs a fast car, I can recommend one of these GTs. Its bullshit fast for a stocker! If there wasn't traction control Id have no tyres left by now. Turned it off once and instant limiter in first and second.
Driving it to work a few times to run it in, then building another shed to put it in lol. Its great to drive on the highway, cruises like a boss! Ford really did a great job with these cars. Its so far above the BA its not funny IMO  :D

I just want to drive it ALL the time!

In other news, bought some more bits for the XB, a gas system for the AU and a bunch of other stuff :) The AU is going to be soooo slow when I get back into it. Manual will be nice though!

Told ya mate, they're pretty bloody good!!
Looks so nice in black.
I know what you mean about the tyres... first half decent skid I tried was well into 4th gear pretty quickly haha.

Have you un plugged the exhaust valve yet? There's an plug under the bonnet, disconnect it and go for a spin. ;)

The GT and GS 5Ls have a bi-modal exhaust, and you can disconnect it to make it louder :)

Yeah sure am, haha it's insane. Rainy tonight, nein traction lol.
I've done the bimodal disconnect, saving up to get some coilovers, zorst & tint at the moment :)
Expensive stuff though.

Got my KTM all fixed up and rec reg today. Looking forward to riding more. Will be getting the XT500 finished too, so I can ride it around town all Super Motard-y :D (engine is on my kitchen table ha ha)

Also got the heads, block & crank stripped and taken to get tanked in caustic.
Annnnd I built another shed to put another car in. Nothing too fancy, but works!

Are the FG parts nice and expensive because of the 5L?

Also went for a ride, first time I've been on my bike in 5 years, after a few massive accidents. Scary, but started getting quicker by the end of the ride (we did ~300km in 2 days). Had a great time. Will definitely be going again next year! Really is a great feeling holding a 2 stroke wide open going up a stupidly steep/rocky hill. Especially when you're passing people on more expensive bikes

Tested out the GoPro yesterday, suction cup onto the spoiler. Need to sort out some way of reducing wind noise, either by using different covers/fluffy thing on the gopro, or a zoom mic.

Washed the AU & FG today, changed the cluster lights in the AU to LED, a few were blown. Looks pretty good!
Cable tied a few loose wires under teh dash as they were annoying me when driving.

Lately the AU has had a musty / wet carpet smell when it's rained heavily. The manual AUs have a tendency to crack the spot welds in the plenum - where the pedal box is supported at the top. Theyve been sealed up before I got this car though. Thought I would pull it all apart to check anyway, I hate the wet carpet smell with a passion!
Found a crap load of leaves and crud, rust waiting to happen. Cleaned that out. Pulled the rubber off the side of the windscreen and above the doors, so much leaves and shite everywhere! :?

Whoever was doing the seam sealing on the windscreen area of these cars needs their bum kicked. Passenger side is reasonable, but drivers side has a couple of gaping holes which I could see causing problems with water. Anyway I dug any small rust spots out, treated them and I've put enough sealer in it to seal anything

Ill grab a couple of pics of the sealer tomorrow, bit dark and late.

Also am still going to pull the tune from this again (stock one) and edit it, but I seem to have misplaced my F2e reader

Got the compressor air gun into all the crevices and blew the dirt and leaves out, still a whole lot in there after a normal clean. Recommend everyone to do this!

So the AU still leaks in heavy rain, going to put it on the hoist and check the drain holes in the drivers side sill. Stupid thing. Only the drivers floor gets wet.

Did a bit of work in my shed last weekend, got a pile of fluoros for nothing so wired them in. Made some hooks for air hoses / extension leads / my pushie out of old exhaust valves from the gt :D

Been pretty busy with things lately, haven't had much time for cars. Gave the AU another tune, need to install my datalogger to properly log fuel vs load etc. But I want to get some extractors first! All about the $$.

Found and fixed the leak in the AU, after all of the stuffing around it was the sunroof drain. The pipe had come out of the d/s drain hole and was just draining to the floor. Fail.

Have given the heads of the XB a tickle, still have to match them all up so they aren't all different to each other.
Got a few new toys, main ones being an MGW shifter for the AU. So keen to get it installed, loved the hurst one in the EB and these are apparently better! Workmanship and quality is pretty darn awesome even just from looking at it.

Image

Finally got a high pressure washer as well, makes life so much easier when washing cars.

Image

And I bought a new guitar. So many things to spend money on!

Put the new shifter in last night, its sooooo good to shift! Ill grab some pics when I'm home, had to bring the newer GT to work today because...

The au has blocked injectors again I think. Gah! Started missing on No.4 last night under load, then this morning it was missing on idle. Did the sound test with a screwdriver on inj. 4 and it wasnt firing.
Took out the j3 chip and its firing now, but still missing under load. Makes sense as I had the VE tables trimmed with the J3 tune.

So going to go the whole 9 yards with the fuel system now, tank out, another rail, injectors cleaned, new reg, new filter and flush the lines. Gonna be a crap job but not much I can do about it!

Did a bit more checking of the AU last night, the injectors arent blocked, found no crud in the rail.
Turns out the AU trans tunnel is smaller than an E series (I think) and the stock shifter sits ~5-7mm from the top of the tunnel.
Sooo when the new shifter is installed, its about 10mm higher than the stock one. So it holds the box against the tunnel when the mount is done back up.

Derp.

Cant believe I didn't see this before, when I put it in yesterday!
Will have to chuck it on the hoist and try to bend the floor up a bit. Otherwise Ill cut a couple of small holes in the tunnel for the bolt heads and make a cover.

Had a busy few months with all of the cars!

After fitting the MGW shifter to the AU, it's been good, had to cut small holes for the bolt heads in the floor, and space the crossmember 5mm. AU tunnels are so much smaller than e-series
Now I'm having to deal with it jumping out of 5th when the gearbox is unloaded, (i.e. coast down a hill etc). Getting annoying, turns out the shifter linkage where the handle goes in is touching the surround when its in 5th due to the weird shape of the AU console. So have to re-adjust it, and check that the rubber boots aren't restricting it. Which is crap on an AU because the factory rubber boot is bolted from under the car :glare:

Anyway.

Wired in the datalogger (another damn pain in the neck due to crap in the 12yr old wires not wanting to solder) and configured winlog, been getting afew logs of it on the 160km round trip to work every day.

Image
Image
Image

Wired in a plug near the ECU for the datalogger, so I can pull it out neatly if I ever need to.
Image
Image

Turns out my ham fisted guessing tune is pretty darn close with the nbsim disconnected! Couple of tweaks to be made but its not bad! Then timing needs more playing with. The VCT engine seems to take craploads of timing before the 3000rpm changeover point, more than the EB ever would! Pulls quite nicely as well.

Image
Image

Have been driving the F150 a bit, helped a mate move house and went camping for AUs day, chucked an entire matress in the back with loads of room to spare. Easiest camping ever!

Decided to buy some nice car wash stuff, got a good foam lance, some nice wheel cleaner and massive microfibre drying cloth and stuff from carcareproducts.com.au if anyone wants to have a look!
Image

And promptly tested it out on the GFs car haha

Works well!

GOt a set of FG turbo brakes for the AU, my rotors are dead and for not too much money I got the calipers and brackets. Bought new discs and pads. (Thanks sunny & needforspeed)
Cleaned them up with some alloy cleaner, came up very nicely! Am painting them red, not for race spec uleh haha, trying to match the AU PBR premium brake setup I had on my XR8. I liked them! And if they look the same, means it sort of fits the car more. Im not usually a fan of red calipers!

Started wth this:

Ended with this:

And painting the Tickford logo on with a stencil I made:

Pretty much finished the mach 1 mustang:

Almost finished the XB (Getting painted in the next week):

And sort of started the XA:

And a pic of the EB. Looking a little worse for wear unfortunately! Still mint, thinking of taking it around a track with one of the turbo kits I still have!

The old bike got relegated to outside temporarily while I have been fixing things - Like the other bike!

Thanks for reading! Apologies for the picture overload.

Good stuff mate, my mgw shifter used to pop out of 1st and 3rd on cold morning because of the leather boot pulling the stick back.

You have some nice cars, can't believe the eb never sold?

Great range of fords there man! Hows the GT going?

Careful leaving the KTM outside.. the plastics/seat on those models fade so easily its not funny!

Wish ours was a mach 1 just a shitty 302 with a cam. It's also for sale to fund our xa coupe build ImageImage

These look terrible compared to a mach 1 I think your selling yours to cheap!

Thanks mate! Yeah mine does it without the boot installed, its the rubber underboot or whatever you call it I think ;)

I had a few bites on the EB, but no-one seemed serious and people didnt want to come to Sale for an EB lol. Ended up giving it to my sister for her 1st car, then we found a mazda 323 for 1k in perfect nick with low km for her. Sooo this just sits until I find a use.

If I end up racing it in any seriousness Ill sell the ghia seats and retrimmed momo wheel, theyre in pretty good condition!

Thanks man! The GT is going very well, almost due for its 2nd service :)

Yeah the KTM was faded when I got it (1998 model), has all new ascerbis plastics and sticker kit. I broke the front and rear guards on my last ride so have new ones for them also :)

Haven't really settled on a price yet, but the car market isn't too flash atm from recent experience, so we'll see. If we cant sell it for what we want we'll keep it.

Nice mustang though! They're hard to find in good condition / not rusty, no matter what model!
