Hey guys, got bored so i though i shall show off my first car and everydayer that ive had for the past 6yrs. It was an EL gli built august 98 with the hybrid engine, btr, and 3.08 single pegger and all the other povo goodness that makes a gli so 'special'

Well, i think its come a long way from the povo spec it was at purchase

cheers guys. Yeh, its now got a 5spd, 3.45 lsd, 2.5inch exhaust, and other el xr6 goodies ( ie xr6 manual ecu and 300kpa fuel reg) and a head and cam package on the way

Next is to put on the el xr front bar, and that sequential scoop that dude sells off ebay that ive got sitting here on my desk

Oh, the only power figures ive got have been when it was mod free with 101rwkw, and the other was with the exhaust and intake mods muckin around on the tafe dyno to get 120rwkw. Im hoping to get a new figure this saturday with the 5spd in it

This is the most recent interior shot ive got of the car. Only differenct is now a manual gear stick and a cleaner interior free from dirt and old grass.



Interior was done with those vht vinyl spray cans, and gathering alot of cappa trim from the wreckers. The seats are ef ghia, and was a great score at only $100 Also modded the door trims to have the woodgrain on the standard gli door trims as i wasnt motivated to do power windows. Although the missus is now pushing for power window installage.

Nice effort there matey! Love the AU style interior, if that is what you were going for. Question for you though, what did you do with all the 'grandpa' spec goodies you removed from it in the first shot? I am going for the complete opposite of you and going for that old man look on my EL!

holy shit! forgot about this thread for a very long time. Was trying to see if i had any current pics of the car but alas i do not.

Unfortunatly its not very photo worthy atm. Its been running on ftrs for the 10months as i damaged two of the gtps heavily on the gutter due to a fatiged drive home one night Front bar got wacked on retaining wall at my cousins place, and the rear bar got smacked about two months ago. And needs a new exhaust, which i have sitting in the shed.

Im going to europe in july, so essentially car funds are being saved for the trip so the car will have to wait apon my return in august. Hopefully then ill be able to undertake a 6million dollar man style rebuild to bring it back to a somewhat all ford day style humble showworthy standard

so all is not lost

there is one massive dent in the rear quarter, multiple little dents, stuff missing, front bar cracked.... so yeah... your damage is nothing compared to this...

oh yeah... it needs a new engine as this one is nearly dead.. i reckon less than 5000kms til it dies

You'd be surprised man, I was running my ED motor for 50,000 with blown piston rings, dropped valve stem seals and awesome ticking/clunking/banging sounds... as soon as the lifters went in the VN i had it seized. ford motors ftmfw
